this game is so stupid. what is the point in it?

they have made it stupidenously hard. only an absolute nerd could get success on this game. it seems that if you want to do well with your team you need to spend about an hour of preperation on your team before each game... who the fook has that much time?!! if i had that much spare time i would just get my uefa badges and become an actual manager!

what happened to the days of winning the scottish cup, uefa cup and premier league with livingston after like 3 years?

Unfortunately you must be a truly poor manager. It takes about 5 minutes to do your tactics the first time, you only need to edit the tactics slightly before huge games or during a match depending on the scoreline. Line-ups take between 1 and 2 minutes. I think the term most suitable in response to "what happened to the days of winning the scottish cup, uefa cup and premier league with livingston after like 3 years? is that SI Games have reduced the possibilty of such things for "enhanced realism".

Yea the game has gone over the top, way too much time is needed. Long gone are the days were I could just enjoy it and play a simple game of CM/FM. Maybe they should think of putting in a difficulty level in the game so people can choose how hard it should be.

loz99 Enhanced realism? This is a game that is far from being realistic. Klose scoring over 80 goals in one season for me is very unlikely and me ( being RM ) winning the league for 10 or more seasons is unrealistic, ok that actually could happen . I don't think many people play this game because its supposed to be realistic, **** I know I don't. It would also be a waste to play as a smaller team. You could never win anything or rarely win things because in real life most of the time the big clubs win.

I cannot compare the two, FM 2006 is the only game I've missed in the CM/FM series since CM 01-02. CM4 was sooooooooo good!!! Perhaps the best

That's right, I've reinstalled FM 2006 aswell.

I couldn't get into FM 2007 aswell, but finally I found some fun in managing Atletico Madrid. But I do agree, SI went too far in trying to get the game realistic. Especially all the heavily underrated players annoy me. I preferred the way it was in FM 2006, it wasn't that easy like in the CM 03/04 days but it isn't as difficult as it is nowadays.

N.B. I realise some of them were probably CM4 or 03/04 or possibly even 00/01

It didn't have an arrow forward but I did a 4-1-3-2 at some point where the central midfielder scored an insane amount of goals. I've been saying for two versions of the game now that the best option tactically is to tinker with a 4-4-2 of some sort. I'm yet to make a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 that consistently works and even 4-2-3-1/4-3-2-1/4-5-1 will only work out if you've got a good enough striker and he's actually in form.

Supertactics don't seem to work anymore because everything seems to be about morale these days. When you're going good you could probably play 0-10-0 and win and when you're down no tactic in the world will save you.

I just thought about how hard it must be for new players... must get frustrating since they don't know much about the game. But it takes a special formula to be successful in the game, its definitly achievable. I don't see the big deal tho... If I need to spend more time on each match to win then I can get more satisfaction from that when I win.
