Believe it or not, but the first and second qualifying round to the Champions League were drawn already today, in the middle of the World Cup.

Really looking forward to see how we could perform in this competition again.

Damn it, Zeljeznicar got one of the worst bloody draws in the pot, we'll get owned with 5 or 6 - 0 :(

Sparta Praha
Rosenborg
BATE Borisov
Dinamo Zagreb
Partizan

Never heard of those?..come on now

Sparta Praha might sound a little familiar, but they are seriously the only team I have heard of. I'm really only familiar with EPL, La Liga and Serie A.

Unfortunately I only have one soccer channel and it usually only shows games from EPL and Serie A, so it's hard for me to be exposed to many of the other leagues in the world. I can't remember if Fox Soccer Channel runs these early CL games, because I didn't get that channel until the group stage had started last season.

I want the Egyptian teams to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Egypt is in Africa and a part in the African football association, it would be impossible.

Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic come from Partizan.

I know I'm Egyptian, but as far as I can remember Italy Super Cup was held in Libya 1 or 2 seasons ago. (not sure)
so why don't Egypt try to join the European tournaments ?

the Supercoppa has been played in the States and in China too ... so your argument is weak, but the idea can't be dismissed readily ... read on for why I say that ...

yeah, his argument is ... but if Isr**l can pull the political crap and get into UEFA, then why should anything stop Egypt trying to pull something similar with some other excuse? they're about the same distance from Europe too ...

African club competitions have many problems like traveling (sometimes teams need to travel for more than 30 hours to reach their destination), empty seats, extremely bad referees, bad unsafe stadiums, very low income, very weak teams & many of the African nations fans do not care to watch them.

While in Europe, traveling is much easier, most of the matches have full capacity stadiums, European referees are much better, better stadiums, much income, much better teams, & the whole world watch them.

Egypt clubs are not too bad or too poor to play in such competition. The budget of one of top clubs in Egypt may reach 15M euros. I know that's not much in Europe but there are some European clubs that have lower budgets.

The political thing is a problem, especially if the Egyptian teams have to face those teams from Israel. But how about if they face in Olympic games ? Actually, I think they faced each other few years ago in some competition(not football).

My point is that the Egyptian clubs are much better than the African ones & more entertaining than some European clubs, & if such thing happens I think the fans may fill a 1 million seats stadium with no problem.

You fail to mention that a lot of Arab countries have flat out refused to allow an israeli football team on their soil. Others do not recognize them as a nation therefore cannot play them in an official football match. That was the main argument that allowed Israel to join the UEFA.

Seriously, what's your problem? Will you stop doing that? You don't do it for any other country, or any proper noun, for that matter.

fail to mention? what did you think I meant by "political crap"? but it is not a unique problem: in the last qualifying campaign, North Korea played South Korea on neutral ground ... so, if politics are separate from sport, then parties involved could have developed a neutral ground accord ... but Isr**l are more than happy (esp. from a financial perspective) to be included in UEFA, so why would they complain?

nothing personal, solely politics ... and if I have to suffer your sig, I think you'll have to suffer me on this one ...

And what do you do when the opposition refuses to actually have a match? Not long ago someone was fired from the Iraqi, or Iranian FA for acknowledging the Israeli FA. What do you think will happen when they have to face an Israeli team? And that was one match, if Israeli teams were included in Asian tournaments, this sort of thing ould be happening constantly, and it would be unfair for them to have to constantly play in a neutral venue.

And assuming the Israelis can travel and play in Iraq or wherever, it would be unsafe for them. Munich wasn't that long ago.

Yes, it's quite a pain for you, I'm sure, to have to see a pic of a beautiful woman. What exactly is your problem with it? Feel free to PM instead of replying if you don't wish to go off-topic. I know it's not personal, that's not the point. Of course you can keep doing it, although, honestly, you're just coming off as bigoted towards Israel, since you're pretty much doing the same thing as that FA I mentioned, refusing to acknowledge Israel.
