I’m not sure if this issue has been discussed before or if a solution has already been found, but I haven’t come across anything in other threads.
I’m currently making some modifications to FIFA 14 on PC using the Creation Masters 15 software to enhance the game.
I’ve noticed a problem with French football: in reality, winning the Coupe de la Ligue grants the team a spot in the Europa League, but in FIFA 14, that doesn’t happen. I tried to fix this by editing the tournament settings in Creation Masters, using the Capital One Cup in England as a reference, since it correctly grants a Europa League qualification in the game. However, despite my attempts, it’s still not working.
The game doesn’t crash, but even after several seasons in career mode, the Coupe de la Ligue winner doesn’t qualify for the Europa League. I considered the possibility that if the winner was already qualified for the Champions League, the Europa League spot would go to the next highest-ranked team in the league. However, even in such cases, the qualification seems to be assigned randomly.
For example, in one test, Toulouse won the Coupe de la Ligue and finished 12th in the league. Logically, they should have received a Europa League spot. Yet, Sochaux, who finished 14th, was randomly given the spot instead.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue? Or is it simply a limitation of the game that we can't fix?
