Hey guys, I've been wondering about this for a while now, I hope I can explain this well.

My thoughts are that there might be an AI tool that could be used for finding similar player faces, that could find us football players "lookalikes", which would be really helpful when trying to make a new face. Basically, an AI tool that could scan through images of current and former registered players and show you the matching faces.

I tried with ChatGPT and Goncalo Inacio, but unsuccessfully. It couldn't do it, and it suggested me to use face recognition apps. Now, it could be that what I imagined is too hard for AI, but since it has become so powerful, my thought is that maybe I just am not familiar enough with it, and that something like this might already exist. Like AI could scan face features and give us the most resembling player, based on whom we can then create a new face - in case that player has, for example, already scanned face by EA.

The point is, I for example, use a personal catalogue of almost 5000 faces whenever I want to create a new face. It is becoming so tiring, and honestly impossible to go manually through so many faces to find the most fitting model to chose as base for a new creation, so having assistance from AI tool in that sense would be amazing, don't you think?

Anyways, in case anyone knows some useful AI tools that could help, please let me know. Maybe there are tools to which I could upload my catalogue and then it can search that catalogue, based on the photo of the player/task that I give to AI?

Something useful that I know has come up is apps where AI creates HD photos of players, we all know that HD photos are essential for creating a quality face.

Actually, face recognition and face comparison were among the first areas where AI-based image processing began. There have been major achievements in these fields over the years, so I think it's not something "too hard" for modern AI - quite the opposite.

Many years ago, when I worked on an appearance converter between old and new FIFA Manager games, I needed to create a solution to find the best matching face.
I made a script that used an AI-based face recognition algorithm to compare a new face with all the old faces and find the most similar one. And the result was pretty good.
This was many years ago, and I believe such AI algorithms have improved a lot since then.

Basically I do the same thing for FIFA 16, I look for faces, hair... when there isn't an official face I create a similar one but as you say it's a job that requires a looooot of patience
