First suggestion is to buy an oxford instead of a blucher because it looks much better dressed up, and can be dressed down just as easily. I like brown shoes a lot, and probably 50-75% of the shoes I buy are brown, but I don't have any plain boring brown shoes. I have some brogues, chelsea boots, monk straps, but my boring shoes are in black. I do this because black is most dressy, and I don't really care for generic darker brown, so if I have to really dress up I wear the black conservative shoes, and if it isn't that serious (like, not a funeral), I'll wear something with more personality in an interesting shade of brown.
They are pretty cheap by good dress shoe standards, and I have 2 pair of shoes by them, so they are good. The Euro being awful on exchange right now, and lack of having to pay the VAT because we're ordering from North America really drives down the price of Meermin shoes.
