Youth Academy - Player Names HELP!!!

When i play career mode i select A-league, so then i choose Well phoenix. As you will note my nationality is of New Zealander. Which in this case we do not have that much talent or players in much of the top leagues in the world. So to explain my problem, basically it has got to do with all the naming of my new youth players that my scout is scouting for. Simply what the scout offers me is a bunch of talented players ready to be signed, BUT!!! Once the system generates a player in the youth academy (which is of New Zealand nationality - under Australia) the names of these new talented players are limited to names that surround those few players that are in top leagues around the world.

The national team of New Zealand has an approximate of only 7 players that are of importance (because they play in the English Barclays Cup). So those players names are/include; Winston Reid, Ryan nelson, Chris Wood, Paston (GK) and Tommy Smith. For example, what I mean is all my new scouted players consist of a list full of (5 Paston’s) with different first names, another (4 Reid’s) with different first names and (7 Nelson’s) with different first name. So what i am trying to get at here is why aren't there more last names included (when my scout shows me a review of all the youth players he has found) rather than those last names i mentioned above. It’s a bit stupid to think that of all the New Zealand soccer players out there, those last names mentioned above would occupy a list of all new future generation players. Where could I find the list of names in the database that are being generated for the new youth players?

If there is any way possible to edit the database of FIFA 13 in the youth academy naming generating section, are you able so guide me or show me a way to add more names in to that database if possible. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could give me.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I have noticed something regarding that issue.

Apparently, if you create a new player in the database and give him a last name which is not yet used by any player with the same nationality, youth players from the same country have a chance of getting his name.

I've created a german player who has a last name which is not used by any other german player and I've already had a german scout and a german youth player with the same name popping up.

So I assume, if you create a few players with unique last names in the database and put New Zealand as their nationality, some youth players from New Zealand might have a chance to get one of their last names instead of the usual 5-7 mentioned in the first post.
I would have given it a try, but editing the database destroys career save files and I don't want to do that (yet).

Another possibility which, however, I haven't tried out yet might be the following:
1. Open your database and go to the career_lastnames table.
2. Add a few typical names from New Zealand here and give them free last name IDs (anything from 495 upwards). Put 11 in the group ID of every name.
3. Go to the career_firstnames table and repeat the same with first names.
4. Open the career_namesgroups table. Add New Zealand's country ID in "nationality" and put 11 as its group ID.

This way, youth players from New Zealand might get those names instead. But again, I did not try this out, it just came up in my mind after browsing the database for a while. Not sure if it works.

Well, if my discoveries are correct, you can't do this so easily. It would require to make Bulgaria a selectable country in the scouting system.
Does anyone have an idea how to do it by the way?

Hi,

I tried your second method that you suggested using all three tables within the database using DB12. The Career_firstname, Career_lastname and Career_namesgroups seem to not respond when i play a new career game.

I noticed a few problems within the database after i entered the new names in, once i finish with the database i save the file close and open it back up. As you would expect the group-id's should all be 11 for my new players (representing NZ) now in this case its the opposite. For some reason after 512 names it starts over/after from 12 then 13 then 14 Why won't it stay at 11.

I mentioned this problem to regularcat through private mail, he said to use the same tables plus the career_commonnames table but it still doesn't affect anything. Could you please help me out with this problem is there any other tables that i may need to edit? and maybe I'm not importing the files back into the database correctly. Please guide me through the steps if you have found a similar solution, once again thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I would like to help but I did not try this method out myself, it was simply a suggestion on how it could possibly work.

As for why it does not stay at 11, maybe there's a limit on how many names can fit into that group.

If this still does not work for you, then you should probably use my first method and create a few players with the desired names. They don't even have to be very good, just that the game generates more names. Because that does seem to work.

I can now relax as i have 5000 names to choose from with my scout. I figured out how to add player names into the database for my country and club without putting him in an actual team. Basically what i did was follow your first step but in this case use DB 12 and just created a few players. There were three tables i had to use which were players table, playernames table and teamplayerlinks.

You could try editing the tables right in DBM 12, without exporting them. Try it, but you might find your edits don't stick, DBM12 has some glitches.
