Your strike partnerships...

What kind of SP do you guys prefer?

Personally, I prefer two pacey strikers which can really cause havoc. But since Bellamy is leaving and Zigic arriving, I am going for a double target men in Zigic and Torghelle. I still have Gallagher and Yildirim is coming so, I might variate a bit if Z & T doesn't work out.

I like having one big tall player who is decent at dribbling and the other one that is an excellent dribbler. Both have to be good at heading and off the ball though, that is a must. I also put there through passes on mixed and they get quite a bit of assist. Right now i have Makinwa and Caracciolo which is great. So one guy that is fast and dribbles like crazy and the other guy is the target man.

I usually like one having good finishing, strength, heading and the other having good dribble, pace, flair

i think having your strikers going to the sides is good

I don't have any partnership's mostly, because I prefer playing with 2 DMC's and then someone's gotta be sacrified and mostly that's the striker. So mostly I end up with one target-man like striker shooting and heading all sorts of crosses in.

since i dont play in situations where i can afford players that are brilliant target men as well as fast, great dribblers, perfect finishers with great vision and passing ability... i tend to have one guy with high jumping/strength/heading attributes and another who is fast, a good finisher and preferably with good technique

depends heavily on your tactics, personally i prefer to play a passing game (much the same as arsenal), hence someone massive in the air isnt a must, essentially i go for this:

one main striker to score goals:
Finishing 15+
Anticipation 15+
Off the Ball 15+
imp/consistency 15+

thats all you need to be a great striker, he'll score **** loads of goals if you've got service from the mids and the second striker.

Second:
reasonable finishing
Off The Ball 15+ (very important for both)
anticipation 13+
Passing 14+
Flair 14+
Teamwork 14+

essentially i like my second striker to be able to play as a lone man if the worse came to the worst, but really i want him to feed through my main man.

Basically the closer to 20 the main striker's finishing is the better, poo loads of goals for the whole team as defences will be shat scared of him.

Also important that whoever is your strike partnership, to have them both attacking the far and near posts respectivley from corners, you'll again score bag loads.

There you go, Tom's first semi-inteligent post in the FM forum for over two months.

i had Iaquinta-Fred, Caracciolo-Makinwa, Owen-Luque, Owen-Tevez, i usually don't buy strikers(when i have a 'nice' couple of 'em) coz i prefer to spend money on the people who put the ball on them..

Senior Squad
When I have two strikers, I use Toni Koskela and Roscoe D'Sane. Both are forwards, and Koskela is a great playmaker. Both are around 15 finishing, and come deep ala Rooney with my tactics.

When I only use one striker, I use Tim Sills, who is a more physical player with finishing around 15.

I only play 4-5-1 nowadays.

My striker doesn't need to be a target man, cos Tevez plays there for me for Arsenal. But I give the striker free role and high creative freedom.

My wingers and strikers usually all score 20-30 goals each.

If I was too have 2 strikers up front my perfect couple would be a real finisher like van Nistelrooy and one that has the creative power aswell to supply the real finisher say like Ronaldinho, Robinho etc.

I like to have one pacey dribbler type of striker that can also whip in nice crosses (like Robinho, Rooney), and another big target man and quality finisher (like Nistelrooy, Charisteas).

For my Ajax game I have Kujit/Babel/Pedro Junior and Charisteas/Rosenberg

Oh well with Marco at the helm, it's no problem. Even in real life he selects an all out Ajax squad ey... (H)
