Your sports year...

Well for me what started off as being one of the crappiest sports years in recent memory is quickly changing for the better. Let's see first the Carolina Panthers were destroyed in the NFC Championship Game (:(), then Duke underachieved in the tournament and lost in the Sweet 16 again, the Charlotte Bobcats had a million injuries and even though they won 8 more games than the season before the season was still sad because of all the injuries. After that I got to watch my highschool basketball team miss out on winning back to back state championships after losing by two points in hell of a defensive game 45-43 (we should of had FT's at the end by the way, the refs were garbage). To top all of that off Steaua was eliminated in absolutely dramatic fashion from the UEFA Cup after it seemed like they would easily get to the final.

Like I said, it was crap.

Lately though, it's starting to get a little better...

The Carolina Hurricanes managed to advance all the way to the Stanley Cup Final and they are up 2-0 in a best of 7. Steaua won their 23rd championship today and the WC is coming up, who knows what the US might do.

Perfect example of how a really s*itty sports year can turn good.

LOL, quite the opposite for me. Last year was probably the best year ever, with UNC winning the title, upsetting Miami in football, and then Chelsea winning the EPL for the first time. This year tho so far alright, UNC definitely better than expected in bball and next year we should contend in football with a decent schedule and bball will again be at the top. Chelsea winning the EPL again, thought a CL championship would have been nice as well. The Canes are playing amazingly in the Cup finals like you said, the Panthers will hopefully tear it up again with the addition of Keyshawn.

Make America Great Again
This year is okay, the Wisconsin basketball team because of injuries and inexperience was pretty garbage losing in the first round of the NCAAs, but our hockey teams (men and women) both won the National Title, so that was good. Bayern sucked in the CL, but we did do the double. Ballack's leaving, but Podolski is comming.

Let's hope for a USA vs. Germany World Cup Final, that would be heaven for me. Of course I'd go for the USA, hopefully in dominating fashion.

It's been great, personally. European footy, Michael Owen, an FA Cup final to remember, the smoggies being twatted, etc...

Good and bad - West Ham coming 9th, FA Cup Final, European qualification, beautiful football and Australia qualifying for the World Cup were tempered by my AFL team, Hawthorn, being crap (although with some memorable victories) and losing the Cup Final - which hurts like nothing else.

I can answer that in two months. With the World Cup, the NBA Finals and the Tour de France ahead it could be a great year or a complete disaster.

Although Bayern won the double I was really disappointed with their performances over the majority of the season. Most games have been a snooze fest and the team got absolutely destroyed by Milan in the Champions League. I'm glad Ballack's gone and am looking forward to Podolski.

Terrible season for the Maple Leafs...missed the playoffs for the first time since '98. Canada got rocked by the Russians at the Olympics in hockey..anyone but the Russians would have not stung so bad! Sampras' record is looking to be in jeapordy with Federer taking advantage of a weak men's field. Liverpool had a disastrous spell when they may have let 2nd spot in the Premiership slip through their fingers and also lost to Benfica( :nape: ) in Europe in the Round of 16. UCLA emerged out of the NCAA tournament with some brilliant comebacks before getting shelled by Florida in the final. Blue Jays made some great off-season signings during the media cloud that was Canada's Olympic hockey mess...they're off to a solid start but their main signing A.J. Burnett has missed most of the season(to date) with an injury....prediction is that the club can challenge the Yankees and Red Sox and the other powers of the American League...summer awaits.

very bad I'd say....Greek teams were ripped apart in Europe and the NT failed to qualify for the WC and Panathinaikos finished third in the league :kader:

Aside from Sydney FC winning the A-League (awesome f*kin day), every team I support in every sport seems to have lost so far this year :(

This is ridiculous. All I wanted was one FA Cup, just one in my lifetime - and you don't even think to include it in the wrap up of your sporting year? Die.
