UltraHLE won't run ISS2000. I haven't tried any of the older versions of the game.

If you can figure out some way to patch ultra.ini to include ISS2000 then you can make it work. I don't know how that can be done though...

Nemu64 does not work with 3dfx cards. You will only see colored bars across the screen.

Ultrahle (which was designed especially for 3dfx cards) does not support iss2000. In fact, iss64 is barely playable. However, the release of Ultrahle 2 is eagerly being awaited. Though no release date has been set, the creator has said that the OpenGL core is 95% complete. Read more about it at its site: www.ultrahle.com

I use Nemu64 v0.7a
I read however that it requires a very strong system (I have an Athlon 750 + GeForce2), it works fine for me.

As I am no expert on this, check http://www.emulation64.com/.

ive tried different settings but no go.
anyway seems like ull be lucky to get the nemu64 version werking properly.
until there is an emualtor that can do a proper job with iss2000 - VGS and psx version is by far more playable.

Let's just say this:

ISS 2000 will have better graphics because of course it is a 64-bit game. ISS 98 for the N64 was truly incredible, it was very very very realistic and had great gameplay. Now with ISS 2000, it's twice as realistic, and has more options. Remember also that ISS 2000 was released after Evolution, so there must be quite a difference.

I also don't know why people are having so much trouble with UltraHLE. It's a simple emulator and the only obstacles that it has are the 3dfx card and the INI updates for games to work properly. Nemu64 was created with hate against UltraHLE and 3dfx cards, because the programmer at the time hated that aspect of the emulator, and decided to program it strictly for OpenGL (I think his nickname is hWnd, and I got into an argument in the Nemu64 forum with him).

I think he would have done a great job if he wasn't so angry at the time he programmed it. It has really bad compatibility, and is taking way too long to develop. It also requires super systems to run properly.

In my opinion I like 64 gaming a lot better, because it's easy to run if you have a standard system, and the size of the ROM images never goes past 20 MB. It retains the graphics and the gameplay, and that makes it twice as enjoyable. I managed to run all my games at full speed on a friend's computer, with my Voodoo 3 2000, and his K6-2 450 with 128 MB RAM.

I suggest you guys visit www.UltraHLE.com if you have a similar or better system, because you're really missing out on some great emulation. Be sure to check up if they have some apps or utilities that you are missing.

I just downloaded Perfect Dark from Zambrotta's link and it only downloaded 3megs instead of 26 but no error window came up.

I need direct links for ISS 2000, Perfect Dark and other good N64 games.

If anyone could email them it would be greatly appreciated! ([email protected])

HELP!!!! I'm going mad!

I guess I was wrong about the ROM sizes, since some are 20+ MB. I don't think they get too much bigger than that though.

As for ISS 2000 on the UltraHLE, I doubt that the ultrahle.ini file has the scripting for that game yet, because it was just released. If you want, e-mail someone at the www.ultrahle.com site to see if they could begin working on it. I'm sure they ca do that.

As for downloading ROM images, look around, nothing is very easy to find on the net. Zambrotta already posted a great link to freedrive ROMS, and that's as easy as it gets. If you find ROMs posted on the web, get them fast before the servers delete them. Another ROM search engine is www.nailbomb.com, it might work.

I downloaded NEMU64 and the ISS 64 ROM. The game was slow and unplayable in software mode, (on an Athlon 700 with 128MB of RAM!) and I got errors when I tried to run the 3D accellerated version.

The solution? SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!

I changed my monitor display from 32 to 16-bit colour, and Bob's your uncle - IT WORKS!

Nice game, but the commentary is verrrry dodgy.

the ball physics seem dodgy in iss2000 n64
they are sweet in the psx version

graphics for n64 version do look clearer but the animation doesnt look as smooth to me (compared with psx)

these sound like emulator issues perhaps..cept i cant believe the ball physics isnt as good as psx version.

anyway, im waitin for UltraHLE to include this game.. b4 i make any final judgements.

STILL don't see a reason for all this hassle the PSX way is far better and reliable

a new PSX game will come out soon too!

More reliable ?

Please...that's just plain stupid. Emulators are unstable, regardless of the platform. I've had way more trouble emulating PSX games than I have had with emulating N64 games, and I have a less than standard system. At least N64 games RUN on my damn slow system, with all the correct graphics. PSX games run properly, but not always with the correct graphics. Also, games are scripted into the emulator's INI file, so no game is guaranteed to work, regardless of the system.

I like both, but I prefer the graphics that N64 ROMs offer. The size is also convenient, and I can admit that it is also more convenient that I can download a small ROM instead of owning the PSX CD to emulate a game. So for all of you N64 haters: if you don't like N64 games, don't emulate them, or play them. If you do like the N64, enjoy the great graphics and gameplay of one of the best consoles of all time.

although that's really pushy..take it from me people don't always agree!

anyway that's what i am looking for i didn't want to repeat myslef but i honestly haven't used the n64 and haven't seen the game i am basing that response on what people are saying!i haven't had any trouble with VGS it is completely stable and with a below average system too.
i am trying to find an incentive to place an effort towards the n64..u seem to know about 3dfx..so it enables open gl giving similar to pc graphics?what else? define "correct" graphics.. alot of crashing? pros and cons for ultra hale ..

Sabaho:

The OpenGL version of UltraHLE is in its last few weeks of development. It'll be released soon. I was lucky to have a 3dfx card and try it on my friend's K6-2 450 MHz, 128 MB RAM computer. We tried the 12 ROMs, most of them the standard ones you should try out: Mario64, Mariokart, Bomberman, NHL 98, Mace: The Dark Age (a kickass medieval character fighting game), Goldeneye, etc.

When I mean correct graphics, they were identical to the ones displayed on the N64, because I had most of those games, but with MUCH smoother and MUCH clearer display, of course because it was on a computer. Even on my slowass 233 MHz, 32 MB RAM slowmachine, they ran at 1 mile per hour, but with crisp, correct graphics and coloring. The textures were great.

If you want to try out your luck on a Glide Wrapper, visit www.ultrahle.com (if you don't have a 3dfx card a wrapper is necessary). If not, wait until the OpenGL core UltraHLE is out. It'll blow away Nemu64 completely. Sorry for the aggresiveness, but N64 gets ratted on way too much, especially by friends that like PSX more than myself, so they've pissed me off too much. Hope that helps out,

TeKNoS
