I totally agree with IGN. These were my very thoughts after playing the demo and it seems the full version hasn't improved.

Well then you are agreeing with a person who is clueless about football, what does that make you? I wouldn't be so quick to share this indidual's thoughts, doesn't take long to figure out this game is different and that the reviewer does not have an in depth clue about football, moreso the FIFA series, the review was very weak, hardly any depth, no talk about manage mode etc....

All he kept complaining was that the thru ball doesn't always work with billiant runs by the AI. Well that's a good thing.....HELLO!, just by that statement this guy has no clue about the game. I have played the hell out of the demo because I think it's a great game and I am not leaving my brain home just because some reviewer who has probably never touched a pitch doesn't like the game because in his words:

"EA's football series gets a complete makeover for 360, but would a simple facelift have been a better option?"

"Through-balls aren't quite so easy to pull off, but that's not usually the fault of the player but a problem we encountered with the AI of our team-mates"

"You don't have as much control over the direction of the through-ball either, so even when a run is timed to perfection your pass is often wayward and intercepted by a defender rather than rolling just in front of the feet of your runner. As a result build-up play isn't as satisfying and indeed enjoyable as it is in current-gen FIFA, which seems a bit odd considering EA got it so right on PS2 and the original Xbox."

Need I say more, I quit buying FIFA after 2003, just a really horrible review for hard core soccer fans like us, absolute insult

I more than agree and feel the same way. I just laughed while reading the review. It seems they are pissed about the fact that every other through ball isnt a foolproof one on one goal opportunity like the current-gen versions. :funny:

Although welcome, this new level of realism may put some players off - especially those who favour FIFA's trademark extravagant goals and the generous scorelines that go with them.

So far, not so good. Not surprised. What a downer. My rule is not to buy a game with less than a 8.5 average rating (www.gamerankings.com is great for these ratings) and not to rent games with less than a 8.0. I guess I won't be doing either....hmmmm, nah, I'll rent itat least to look at the graphics, then return it. ::(:

go buy your crappy PES 6 and move on from fifa`s forum

The IGN review is spot on.

The passing is ****, the through balls are ****, the shooting is ****.

The game, is ****.

Why do the players nearly fall backwards when shooting? Why does the ball ping off the foot instead of the player kicking it? WHy do team mates just sit around doing nothing when you are attacking? Why does it always feel like I'm watching my nan trying to pass with her left foot?

The passes have no weight to them, the through ball is a waste of time, and the shooting feels like it did years ago.

I'll be buying a PS2 this week - it's a much much better game on all the other formats. In fact, even the PSP version is better than this piece of crap.

Oh, running with the ball is fantastic though.

Exactly. I have more things to ad that I didn't like, but I'd have to play the demo again. I still just might buy the game when it's in the discount corner.

Its not really a surprise that some people thinks less of a (more or less) bad review for their beloved Fifa game. There are quite many bad things about Fifa 07 on the X360 but also some good things - therefore it gets a "normal" 7.6 rating instead of a +9 which some people here will always claim it deserves.

I think the review is spot-on as well.

Have you even played the finished product?

No?

Isn't that a surprise.

I've been playing the finished product non-stop since 10 o'clock yesterday morning.

I am not talking about if he thinks the game is weak or not, my point is the review is weak and lacking, no mention of stadiums, what about the lighting in the game, the 3d grass, no mention of managing modes eyc...e tc... etc....all he kept talking about were thru balls, it was a useless piece of an article and if it was graded it would have gotten less than what he gave FIFA 07

I'm not a PES fanboy. Plus, I heard that PES for 360 is bad as well. Heard they cut many corners and didn't improve enough in all areas. All in all, it seems it's a pretty week year for football gaming? I'll check out Fifa for the 360 myself. There's a part of me that still believes in Fifa. Please, Fifa, prove most of the negative reviews wrong.

In fact, I've been thinking of doing the same. I liked the demo, and I've still got Xbox-version of PES5 (which is backwards compatible) so I can play also it with my Xbox 360.

...am playing retail version of Fifa 07 since yesterday and I am still as impressed as I have been with the Demo in the first place.

At a first glance to me it looks even a bit more difficult to score (especially from crosses) in the full version of the game.

However, the fact that you have an actual learning time to pass in order to get the satisfaction out of this game this time is extremely pleasing to me.

Sure, through balls are more difficult as is scoring from crosses but îsn't this what all were moaning about in the earlier titles ?! ...on top of it it is much more rewarding if they work out eventually !

What remains disappointing is the reduction to six leagues only and also that you can only choose from the same camera views than in the demo... would've expected some more here in the full version anyway...

I played now like 20 games in the Manager Mode (while having played the demo ****loads of times) and I must say, I am really getting into this.... it's the flexibility in editing your formations (i.e. individually every player's position) as well as the fact that when players get match practice and do well you can upgrade them with loads of different attributes that I will surely keep me going for several months still... am just lovin' it !!!

The animations are as spot on as they were in the Demo... surely Fifa 07 on next Gen is still far from what everybody is dreaming of: The perfect football simulation... but this Fifa for me personally will have by far the highest lasting appeal, that is for sure already after a couple of games only 'cos it will take much more practice in order to get your personal gameplay style to perfection, while having far less "same-type" goals in this compared to current gen Fifa titles as well as the Next-Gen games we had so far from EA....

...anyone that fancies an online "battle" ...send me a pn. cheers.

5 seasons in manager mode which I think is pretty fair. I mean, who actually plays 50 seasons? By the time you finish the 5 seasons, the next installment will be out and more likely than not, most people will buy it...unless it's really really bad
