It's great to live in Asia seein' how Japan, with their latest techno-gears, tend to offer us their coolest stuff first - and at a cheaper price. No, I'm not going to buy a silly PS2 just for WE6, but I just saw the trailers(Compare the WE6 and FIFA trailer) and I saw that there's gonna be a game called Winning Eleven 2002 for the PS! That means, I'm gonna be able to play the equivalent of WE6 instead of stupid FIFA ****. That's totally cool guys, cos I've seen the trailers... I don't really care about graphics... but wow... i Mean, they've added a hell lot of **** in there. Like REAL player animations... REALISTIC Freekicks... A whole new dimension in GAMEPLAY... And wow.. check out their TRAINING MODE. And ... oh my god i'm drooling already... So anyway, trust me guys, Get WE 2002 and download a PS Emulator. The graphics may be 5 years ago technology. But the animations... gameplay... heh, you can't beat that.

The gameplay for the Playstation version of Winning Eleven 2002 and the PS2 version of WE6 will be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Just like the gameplay of PES for the PSX was completely different than the gameplay of PES for the PS2. The PS2 isn't just used for the graphics and animations - the AI and ball physics calculations in WE6 and PES for the PS2 are impossible to do on a 33mhz PSX.
Just ask anyone in ISS/PES forum. You might have to buy that 'silly' PS2 after all....

I hear ya, but I think WE6 will be worth it - I have Winning Eleven 5: Final Evolution and it's fantastic. WE6 will be even better.
Also, check out some videogame sites - see if there are some other PS2 games you might be interested in, this may make your purchase more worthwhile - though I firmly believe buying a PS2 is worth it for Winning Eleven/PES alone!
Weigh up the pros and cons and make your decision, a PS2 isn't cheap but Fifa isn't really an option since EA Sports don't seem to give a crap about real football.

First of all... PES for Ps2 dont have the same playability thatn PES for psOne because there isnt PES on PSOne... the Last game that we saw on playstations is Iss Pro Evolution 2... that is the euro version of WE 2000... PES is very newer game that is the Euro version of Winning Eleven 5.
Then i think that it Konami will be release a new WE for Psx i think that the game will be like the PS2 except on graphics and animations.

Its been a LOOOOONG time since i played FIFA 98. man, that game got me hooked onto soccer games as if it were crack. (i would assume)
i was just wondering. pronewbie, you mention downloading it and playing it!? where can i do that, i miss that game so much. it was so long ago, i want to see how much EA have de-evolved over the years!
fockin' EA. it boggles my mind, a company with so much money could not invest much more time and effort into the meat and bones of a true simulation of soccer. Instead, they invest tons of money into animations, which in my opinion get old quick when stuck with such crumby gameplay!

Now what made this game so great?
Okay, so you were able to pass in any direction you liked, and the ball in motion physics was very good.
You could also play the World Cup with the team you qualified with. That's basically it, oh as well as the catchy intro song (which was one reason i dug the game hehehe... com'on i was 14!!).
sooo... compared to the demo of FIFA 2002, man, its crazy to say, but DAYUM we FIFA gamers have been skrewed over hardcore! I just say this because games are not supposed to be worse than the predessor from FOUR years ago. The game got worse within gameplay but a huge amount better graphically.
