With how many leagues should I begin?

Hello to everyone!

I am a new FM player and I wanted to know how many leagues should I load?
I have a laptop with the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo processor @ 1.8 Ghz
GeForceM 8600M GT
2 GB RAM

I also want if it is possible to have a feedback from you on how fast the game can load...
I also noticed that while the game loads, if I press continue to the news screen the day changes faster. Do you do that ? It affects the gameplay?

Sorry for bothering you all

Thanks in advance

Video card is pretty much irrelevant..

It all depends if you're ONLY playing the game, if you play it windowed and browse at the same time (like me), and also it depends a load on how much you prefer realism (with patience) or speed with a little less detail and therefore realism...Experiment..Click the suggested set up button, and run around the same many leagues as the game suggests, but not neccesarily the same ones, maybe a couple of extras, and see if it is fast enough for you...

Many thanks I will start with the suggested settings and see how it goes...
If I have any further questions regarding this subject can I bother you again?

I've got almost the same specs as you, just a slightly better processor, and I can run between 8-10 leagues with all the divisions selected on a large database without a problem. This is while surfing the web and listening to music at the same time too. I bet you can run more if you tried, but it might have an affect later on if you play on a long term game.

Rocky rules!!! One more question rocky when you say without a problem can you specify how long is your loading time for example 2 minutes is considered to be a long waiting time for the game? And as for my other question if you press continue on the news loading screen the loading time is decreasing?
Many thanks again...

My loading time is probably ~1 minute. Haven't experienced anything longer, but I haven't even completed a season. Best way to determine it is just trying it. Who knows, you might not like playing with a lot of leagues. It matters how fast you want to play the game and the amount of detail, etc. I play at a rather slow speed anyway and tend to take my time and get really into the game. As for your second question I don't understand. Do you mean when you hit continue and it's processing?

Rocky I appreciate your help! I was really deterred from the game and i was hesitating to start it properly because I have tried many combinations but most of the were over 10 leagues. So I will begin the game with 8 leagues and see whats going on. One minute loading time works fine for me.

As for my second question what I meant was, that when you select to move to the next day, during the loading time a pop up screen appears with the news information. On this pop us screen on the bottom right cornen there is a button which says continue (or continue or next i dont remember exactly). I noticed that when I press it the game loads faster (maybe I am wrong).
Is this true? Should I do that or I am missing some really helpful info? I want to play the game to the full thats why I am asking (perfectionist as you are :) )

I'm assuming by the button in the right hand corner you mean the 'browse' button. All that does sometimes is stop the fixture and news processing if you don't have the processing time set to 'fastest, can't interrupt'(which, I think, is what I have it set at) in the game options. Doesn't always work though. My suggestion, just forget it's even there.

Well let me tell you why i haven't

First in my case, overclocking a laptop would mean:

My cpu will reach higher temp than the surface temp of the sun, which means imagine having the laptop with that temp on my bed and file sharing in the meanwhile, hell will rise from my laptop= my duvet will catch fire =the whole house as well =my parents will be ****ed= they will throw me out off the house = i will live on the streets = I ll become a bum = die helpless.

Thats why :p
