Online Play
This patch is playable online ONLY with other users of the patch.
If you wish to play online with people not using this patch I
recommend that you save your 0_text.asf by renaming it to
0_text.asf.original. When you want to play online with someone
not using the patch, first rename the new 0_text.afs to 0_text.afs.mls
then rename 0_text.afs.original to 0_text.afs. To switch back to
MLS Evolution 2005, do the reverse and rename 0_text.afs back to
0_text.afs.original and rename 0_text.afs mls back to 0_text.afs

Installation
1. Open MLSEVO2K5.part1.exe to extract the files

2. Rename 0_text.afs to 0_text.afs.original in the folder:
"Cprogram files\konami\winning eleven 87 international\dat"

3. After files are extracted, move all AFS files into your
"Cprogram files\konami\winning eleven 87 international\dat" folder
choose to overwrite files when prompted

4. Move KONAMI-WIN32WE8UOPT to
"Cprogram files\konami\winning eleven 87 international\save\folder1"
choose to overwrite files when prompted

5. Start Winning Eleven 8 International just like normal and enjoy!

Known Problems
Some MLS uniforms have problems with collars. Rapids home for instance. Only really obvious when viewing close up
Dot colors on the radar are wrong for MLS teams.

both of those problems are due to the fact that I do not know how to change them. If anyone knows, please let me know

Just juggle the multiple afs files & play both! Thats what I do.

By the way, has anyone seen the MLS Puma ball available for PES4/WE8?

I wanted the teams to be contiguous. Besides, Porto winning the champions league was kind of a fluke. I mean look at their domestic and european performance this year.

Wow...and even better you got rid of all the sh!te clubs....It's about time people realize that the MLS has grown by leaps and bounds...not that it's on par with the Top leagues talent but more the bottom of the Top Divisions I.E. DC United are a better club than Norwich City, Crytal Palace, Soto etc...

Maybe I missed it....I saw the Puma ball, but didn't think it was the MLS ball. Is the ball you're talking about the SoccerAccess Puma model?

There was no fluke at all. They had the best coach in the world, they played the best football in the world and they had top players that went to Barcelona, Chelsea, etc.

BTW i'm a Benfica fan, who's the biggest rival of FC Porto.

Anyway, what is happening to FC Porto is nothing that didn't happened even to the almighty R. Madrid after they were UEFA league Champions, and Real dont loose the most important players.

What Porto and Mourinho did in 2 years, winning UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League in a row is more than any other can do right now, even with all those millionsssssss that Portuguese clubs don't really have.

So, not a fluke, but quite a f*cking achievement.

But thats ok, i forgot that you americans don't even know where Portugal is located, much less i expect for you to know anything about "soccer".

Fluke was the wrong word. i didn't mean to open a can of worms with this. if you want to play as porto, don't play the MLS patch then. It seems you already have your mind made up about americans so there is no point to arguing.

FC Porto was a great team. but now they are an empty shell of their former self. They were in the way of what I wanted to do with my patch, so I replaced them with a team that more MLS fans would find exciting. There is no way that the current incarnation of FC Porto are going to win anything meaningful this season in europe, and given recent performances, i am giving the superliga title to Benfica. but I'll be watching the porto/benfica game on monday because that's right, I don't know anything about "soccer".

Realize that i have not taken Porto out of every copy of Winning Eleven 8. I have only taken them out of MLS Evolution 2005. If you want to play as porto, you can play with the default, or play with one of the many other patches out there that leaves them intact.

Dude... Chill your Portugese pickles. He's not holding a gun to your head forcing you to use his patch. You dont have to use it you know. Besides, its not about being Americans. Its about being MLS fans.

you're right. i'm not using the specific MLS ball, but the puma cellerator shudoh ball. I beleive the only difference is that the mls logo is not featured on the ball. the design and color scheme is the same as the MLS matchball.

Sure man, but even though Porto wont win anything this year (maybe the Portuguese Liga, maybe not), there were MANY MORE clubs you could had taken out instead of Porto, like more than half of the Premiership, almost all of the Bundesliga, France liga, half of the Spanish liga, almost all of the Dutch liga, Half of the Italian liga...
Your criterion is what amazes me. You say that you choosed to take out Porto 'cause they wont win anything relevant this year... but neither will 95% of the clubs in the game... and yet Porto is out. And Sporting too, even though they blew Feyernoord out of the UEFA yesterday. But Being from Portugal talks louder than being mediocre clubs that you kept in the game. I just think it would make no harm to your patch to keep the World Champions in there and take out another one of the more than 1 hundread clubs in there, lol.
But don't take this personally, its pretty usual this to happen, i just get a little pissed by the fact that being from this or that country makes all the difference.

don;t take it so personally. MLS fit perfectly between River Plate and Celtic. I also did not want to remove any complete leagues. If Konami had put the turkish clubs in those spots rather than the portuguese clubs I would have removed them instead. And believe me, when i replaced porto with DC united i did think about it, but i wanted all the MLS clubs to be grouped together, and the depleteted team that lost their coach and half their good players is just not the same team that won the champions league.
