Windows XP anyone trying the beta version..?

Dear friends

In my bored moments I have been looking at microsofts webpages and have come accross a new windows based program that they will be releasing in october. There is a beta version avaiable but only in USA and Canada. Has anyone used it, hopefully it will be stable like win2000 but great for games. Heres hoping.

Peace love and we all love Bill Gates....

erm...maybe not, you know, he knows where you live...... :D

I have seen it on a friend's computer. Looks good, it can be run in previous OS, i.e. If a computer game only runs on W98 you can easily swap to that OS.

Cosmetically it looks like W98 just rounded boxes instead of square boxes.

Just one question - why are you posting in a UC forum?

I will probably get a copy for myself in a couple of weeks.

Windows XP Compatibility Issue With Games Using Safedisc 2.0
The CloneClinic reports of a problem using SafeDisc v2 protected games under WinXP:
We are aware of a potentially serious compatibility issue that is resulting in system instability/blue screen on Windows XP and Windows 2002. Currently, this issue seems to be appearing in some newer game titles. We have confirmed that a particular version of Macrovision's Safedisc 2.0 that ships with many newer game titles is responsible for this compatibility issue.
Microsoft has been working closely with the Macrovision development team to address this issue and a resolution has been accomplished. An updated driver that corrects the issue is currently available for download at http://www.c-dilla.com/support/safedisc.html
