Hey everyone,

Just a quick message to clarify some of the rumours that have been going around with regards to whether I will be or won't be making FEd2002.

Well, not wanting to keep you in suspense any more, the answer is YES there will be FEd2002.

I know your next question will be WHEN? My answer is "I don't know". Obviously, I'd like to get it out there as soon as possible but because of my work and family commitments it's kinda difficult.

However, I've been working on FEd2002 in my spare time (which I don't have much of) for the last couple of months.

I plan to release FEd2002 in stages, adding more and more features as I find time to do them. Rather wait until the whole thing is completed and release it in April/May like I did last year with FEd2001.

So the first installment of FEd2002 will be very basic. Just thought I warn you that.

FEd2002 will be multi-lingual. I'll need people to translate it to different languages. So if you'd like to help then let me know the language you'd to translate to and I'll contact you.

FEd2002 will also support Unicode characters that means it will be compatible with Hebrew, Korean, Japanese and any other languages that use unicode character set.

FEd2002 is skinable. So all you arty type start design window backgrounds for it BTW, the best size for the background bitmap is 800x600.

FEd2002 will NOT support importing data changes using the ingame Creation Center. Any changes made by Creation Center will not be reflected in FEd2002. I know a lot of people will be disappointed in this but this is too hard and takes too much time to do.

I'll try to answer your questions relating to FEd2002 if I can but please don't ask WHEN it will be out.

Anyway, hope this helps solve the mystery of FEd2002 and just to whet your appetite, here is a screenshot of the Team Management window in FEd2002.

Jaja Fede. Who is the King of Fifa now??? Ariel as you claim awhile ago.

Thanks Chau. This will definite keep people interest in Fifa for awhile. EA, give this man a lifetime of Fifa games. God knows how much he has done FIFA and not to mention the Fifa sells.

The King of FIFA is (still) Ariel, but I always said that VERY Chau is a good programmer, but he only makes Fed (A perfect program that everybody uses), and Ariel makes a lot of program that many people uses..

O.K this might be a bit.. a lot.. very stupid, but why dont you just use that free translater from google. It translates from english to french,german,dutch,spanish,italian and .... the other way round,,,, meaning from french,german,dutch,spanish,italian to english.

Ya I understand you already have a lot of things to do so it would be very hard for you to do all this maybe. If you can't, don't want to or are too busy, I'd be glad to help out.

I've never used FED. is it like FIFA FX or something???

No electronic translator can replace a human one in terms of accuracy. Besides it gives the translator a chance to see what FED looks like.

I knew an announcement like this was going to happen and in my opinion it is probably the most welcome news out of anything in the FIFA community. And how did I know - it's because three years ago Chau did the same with FEd99. He kept us in suspense and didn't let on that he was making it, giving the public the thought that it wouldn't appear. The rumours kept spreading around that he wouldn't make an editor, especially after some guy illegally released his JEd99 utility. But what happened? We had FEd99...!!!

It had to come, considering that many of us were getting really tired of FIFA 2002. There aren't many data updates or patches available and people were, not surprisingly leaving FIFA 2002 alone to play better games (like PES).

It doesn't matter when the editor will be released, but the fact that there will be a FEd2002 will satisfy everyone who still plays FIFA 2002.

I think that releasing it in stages is a very good idea - people could still get the editor, but also help further in the development by making suggestions or reporting bugs. Sounds like the old beta testing idea doesn't exist if I'm not mistaken. It don't matter if the first version will be basic - the fact that we can edit the FIFA 2002 files without using that crap Creation Centre is enough for many.

Right, where's them postcards? In my opinion, Chau should get knighted for doing those editors in the scarce amount of spare time that he has...
