Widescreen problem

I would like to play Fifa06 on my widescreen LCD. The resolution of my screen is 1280x768. I have already changed the resolution of the game to 1280x768 by editing the hex value in fifa06.exe but the image inside the game has been stretched.

Anyone know how to fix such problem? Do I need to change the "FOV" of the game? If yes, how to change the FOV? Thanks.
