Why this year crappy PES gets high in reviews?

Its simple my dear watson. Fifa is **** , there for gets **** reviews (although its well liked ny kids and noobs who can't play pes) and pes 2008 is good and will get good reviews.

man, the answer to your question is simple... PES IS BETTER! even if pes would have so many flaws it will still be better, I mean i played fifa for 10min and got so bored of it. BTW have u played the PC version of fifa 08 ? it's so freaking horrible the graphics are worst i've ever seen, and everything is so boring and seems like it was all made in a hurry or something.

I agree with you wholeheartedly even though I love this game it obviously apparent that Konami could not give a rats a-- about its customers, they are still being cheap and doing very little work on this game, you ask me how do I know? just look at the game, it is obvious they are still using the same code from the PS2, this is a game where there PC interface looks like there PS2.
Slam EA Sports all you want but every year I see these guys trying, they have a shown a pride and commitment about themselves for the next gen console that I have not seen in Konami, they are pushing and pushing and for the american consumer like me that is expected.
We as consumers shouldn't reward mediocrity and that is exactly what we are doing with Konami. I give PES a score of 6.8 this year.

wow del piero is a moron. obvious he hasn't played 08 on the 360. It;s what you call next gen unlike pes ps2 looking, cheap presentation and super arcady pace pes is. enjoy last gen as it wont llast much longer

You people are a trip, you people act like you made the game, defending it at all cost and when a mature, balanced person such as me ackknowledges the game is great but still has flaws, you want to call me a fan boy. GROW UP! nothing is perfect and if that's the mediocre attitude you want to take, then knock yourself out, Dude there is no light even reviewers say the same, take the blinders off, still a great game but it is the same old gameplay from current gen, you can't have that on the next gen, it is just basically a port, the 360 has been out almost 3 years and they are still creating ports. UNACCEPTIBLE!

FIFA is not the same, they have rebuilt their entire engine, added the raw physics animation, so popular that other EA Sports title such as Madden and NBA Live are using it as well, the have textures out the wazzoo, sweating animation, cloth and hair movement

That's just marketing department talking. Same old fifa, nothing new here. You can't even take shots you want. Game decides for you how hard you want to hit the ball. That's realism? Lets grow up people.

Exactly. I played PES 2008. It's fun but it's not what I personally look for in a footy game. It reminds me of old ps2 fifas only with better gameplay. This is Konamis 2nd attempt aat next gen and it is a poor one (relatively speaking). I mean, Konami didn't even try to take advantage of the next gen hardware the ps3 and 360 have. It plays more unrealistically, looks only slightly betterthan old PES's, the presentation is pure sh!t (audio is horrid, crowd looks bad, pitch textures look bad, menu music, overall menu look and layout, etc.) Not to mention online is nearly unplayable and the options online compared to fifa 08 (NEXT GEN) is totally laughable. Sure Fifa has it's problems, like most games, but they have made huge strides and are truly thinking out the box by coming up with 5 vs. 5 and next year 10 vs. 10, interactive leagues, etc. That's the ambition I applaud. and of course, with all these new next gen features, certain things will be overlooked or just not as perfect as we'd like them to be. But nonetheless, Fifa 2008 has next gen written all over it. It plays realistic and requires thinking a second quicker than your opponent and all your attention to suceed. and please bare in mind, I consider WE9 as my favorite footy game (pound for pound) of all time. I also thought all Fifas after 98 were utter trash. On next gen, EA is taking the reigns though. While all this is going on, Konami acquired, what? a couple of new licenses, gave their player models a weak touhp up paint job and what else? That's my point. When Konami come up with a true interesting next gen PES, I'm so there! Not for now, the experience in PES 2008 is old ansd stale, at least for me. Please, no more talk about gameplay, it's an old cop out. If you bring it up, I'd tell you to go play WE9, etc. on the PS2 since it wasd the best. Therefore, no need to come out with PES 2008, it's redundant.

why do you keep changing the argument, now it's realism,? I am talking about next gen, that's that and every reviewer who love PES say IT'S NOT NEXT GEN. You can't argue that because PES still belongs on current gen.

Plays better, looks better.
Fifa is still same old gameplay, with crappy looking players. Ugly faces and they all look fat. And taking out the ability to select how hard you want to kick the ball should qualify it for the previous Gen, so fifa is not even current gen, don't even mention next gen.

To all those people, I say you are flat out idiots. So what if the players in PES don't have 1 million ripples in their shirts like FIFA? Does that really make a difference in gameplay?? For me, a good footie game is descirbed by a game that has the most realistic and fun gameplay, and for me that is PES2008. The games are fun, scores are logical, and everything feels awesome!
And I think PES2008 can be considered 'next-gen'. PES has much better kits than FIFA08 and also in PES2008 you can even import your own face. So pretty much no player has a generic face! NOW THAT is cooler than having players with a million ripples in their shirts like in FIFA. LMAO

Well whenever we have this argument you have to compare the same versions, pc to pc, console to console. Pes2008 on pc imho is miles ahead of fifa 08 on pc. I loved fifa 07 on the pc and when i played fifa 08 for one game i absolutely despised it and broke my cd in two. On 360 however fifa is an entirely different game and although i havnt been able to compare it to the 360 version of pes i can say that fifa is decent. Although i only play fifa on 360 when i play with my friends, and i play pes on pc just about every day, i see now what i have been mising the past couple of years. Pes Wins.

Honestly, liking PES is fine, of course. But to say it's next gen is being in denial. It's a port with touch up jobs, nothing more. Wonder why Konami don't care to EVOLVE (how ironic)? It's because of blind fanboys who want to fight the man (EA, starbucks, MS, etc.) PES is not next gen and it is arcady. Anyone saying its not arcady knows nothing of football. Fun? yes. Realistic, next gen material and innovative? No!

See that is what I don't get. What in your opinion makes a game 'next-gen' or 'current-gen'? From a graphics point of view that is.
The kits? Ok so the FIFA ones have more ripples and they seem rushed. In PES they have a more realistic form of the player body AND they are pretty much perfect. More ripples isn't going to make a great deal of difference in gameplay.
The faces? Mate, IMO, in FIFA08 Next-gen, the faces look all evil and dark. Plus, in FIFA 08 for PC, pretty much all the players have darkened slits where the eyebalss should be, LOL. The PES faces are EXACTLY like the real players. I was stunned when i saw them. I was especially blown away when i saw Veron of Argentina. PES faces also realistically move (but I can assume the ones in FIFA08 NG also do) And, in PES you can import your faces, and they are pretty damn accurate to the real faces. Also, in PES, no player has a generic face.
The stadiums? Ok, FIFA 08 has more stadiums, great. I don't really crap my pants with joy if I know I am playing on the San Siro with Inter or Milan.
Licenses? Yes, FIFA has more leagues, but they do not accurately portray them. And at least in PES you can easily get around that with the fantastic editing system. Now, people can't say the EPL sucks in PES2008 since anybody on ANY console can edit the logos, kits, FONTS, BOOTS, etc...

Wanna know what I mean about next gen material? For starters, innovation! Take Fifa for example. You have 5 vs. 5 online in a couple of days, you have a be a pro mode, you have the interactive leagues, you have a very fine tuned online service with very little lag, you have official and unofficial online tournaments. Online keeps tracks of every little last detail , stats. You can upload your goals... Then you have a modern looking menu system, fantastic audio, fantastic lighting effects, very well rendered stadia, new game engine, etc.
Now over to PES. Besides a little paint job what makes PES on the 360 and PS3 (its worse on the ps3 by the way, way worse.) "EVOLVE"? Take a ps2 PES game and put it side by side, not only in looks but everything else and really be honest with yourself. If anything, it pales in options.
Now I'm not arguing that PES is not fun, on the contrary. PES has always been fun. I absolutely adored WE8 & 9 (not sure what PES that is) and consider it my favorites. Excellent game. At one time PES crushed Fifa and fifa was garbage. I just switched back to fifa on next gen because i want something new and I want to move with the times. I want more than just good gameplay, I want a new experience even if it means learning how to play a different way, which I am truly enjoying to do now. WE9 has better gameplay than PES2008 imo, so if I just want good gameplay, I can toss that in my PS2 and presto! Now, go back a year and a half and try to remember what the next gen PES had in store for you and try to remember how you pictured it and you will most likely agree you pictured it be more than this PES.

I'd create 10-12 custom teams from crest to lettering to boots to celebrations, etc. In this respect I hope Konami doesn't get more licenses since I fear it may make them omit the editing system in other releases.
