Sorry for the caps. CM is an amazing game, but the data editor is sooooo hard to use! I know i haev a slow comp, P3 800ghz 256mb RAM, but I run almost every other game flawlessly including FIFA 2004. But with this editor, loading a database takes 5-8 min, saving it takes that long too.

Is it supposed to be like this? :o

if this is for 03/04 then it cos ur not supposed to hav the game yet. it isnt released until next week. go buy the game like most other people.............. if its for 01/02, then no its not supposed to take that long but ur spec is quite bad so its probably cos of that...........

oh for gods sake stop this, he may not have downloaded the game, and if he has it doesnt seem as though hes bragging about it. If he has bought it from a shop that has illegally sold the thing early, then they are to blame and prosicute, not him.

Editors on CM's are often notiriously slow, but does it really matter? i mean in the end it loads up.

The CM4 pre-game editors that were released are very slow indeed. They are even slow on my dad's PIV 3GHz. Must have something to do with the enormous database.

Yep. And it will be fully skinnable, just like CM4 and 03/04 itself. (Sorry, I know I said that before, but I find it just so ri-f-ing-diculous I needed to say it again)

I do wonder if we'll be able to add leagues back in... [cough]MLS[/cough]

I'm tempted to go down WH Smith tommorow.

They did FIFA 4 days earlier than the actual release date, so they might do the same thing for CM(If I'm lucky).

And they sold CM4 copies earlier than the release date If I remember correctly.

I think it's your comp . . . I have 2056 mb Ram with a 2.5ghz processor and its fine. Even on my 1ghz/512mb ram Laptop it is fine. The only problem is searching for players, as it is displaying 200,000 odd players, so it may take 20 seconds + to find a player. Things like editing values are instant for me though. (H)

Sorry for the confusion all, I am trying 01/02. Finding players takes about 10 secs for me, but loading/saving the database is a real headache. I can't just go and edit some player values easily in a few min, it feels like compiling a huge C++ program.

i got a 733MHz with 512 RAM..... so it mite b ram :S

also, if u got the newer versions of the pregame editor, try removing languages/history from the load..... then it runs quicker ;)

What editor are you using then? The official one? Graeme Kelly's? Tri Wasano's?

It doesn't really matter which one you use, they all load and save pretty slow. The speed is mainly due to the processing speed of your RAM. As it's a PIII, it's probably one of the slower versions, like the 133 MHz SD-RAM. That's what you get with the enormous database. (Yes, even 01/02 has an enormous database)
