Why does modded game crash when starting tournaments?

This is a recurring problem I've been having, and I figured I should open this thread to be more certain that I'll get an answer, and also because I didn't get any meaningful results searching for similar threads (I even tried Googling it, to no avail).

Here's the thing: I have been modding my FIFA 16 by adding new leagues to the game with CM16 - well, I actually use FIFA Infinity's FIP patch as a base (which updates the squads to the 2016-17 season and adds the Brazilian and Japanese leagues), with a few of the African leagues from the (sorely outdated except for Egypt, and hastily put together like every patch FIFA Egypt makes) Arabian Eagle Patch added on. Anyway, I added the leagues, created also a couple of NTs (both male and female), and tested them in the game's Kick Off mode, where they proved to work just fine.

However, every time I try to start a tournament, after I choose a team and proceed, the game crashes back to the desktop. I made sure to use existing tournament IDs when making the league structures for the African leagues (I only imported the teams, because CM16 treats league structure separately), and I always regenerate my files with FHL-BH every time I save them to make sure nothing will go wrong, but I still have the same problem.

Is there anything I'm neglecting? Please inform me whether or not this is the case, and provide me a solution.

Sorry it took so long to answer, just now got the time to test it out.
Answering your question, no. I tried Serie A and it worked fine. Same for the two new leagues that came with the FIP Patch (Brazil and Japan). But the imported ones from the other patch (Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa, for the sake of elaboration) don't work.

I've had a problem when trying to play the Women's World Cup too, likely because now I have 20 women teams and the game chooses from them at random. But I can't access any of its parameters on CM16, so I'm mostly fixed on the club leagues. I haven't tried Pro/Manager mode yet, but I have a feeling it will crash too if I do.

If you need any more detail, please ask me and I'll answer.

the importing feature of cm is ultra buggy.. killed my database very often.

So i guess, there is your problem

i found no solution...

i just dont use the import feature and do everything by myself

i just work with cm 16 beta 1.. full kills my database

Update (sort of):

I admit I haven't gotten around to doing what you're saying; instead, I'm fiddling around in CM16 to see if I'm missing something. From what I saw, there's nothing I leave blank that isn't blank in other leagues either (I even made referees for the leagues).

I tried the players to see if any of them has irregular IDs, but they worked when I added them to one of the preset teams. Then I tried the teams by switching one in an existent league with a new one, and they worked too.

Out of stubbornness, I tested the Algerian Ligue 1 and it worked. Can't help but wonder why, since it came with the same .CMP as the other three African leagues and I made the tournament structure the exact same way as the others.

In the past I got the same error (I think FIFA 14 or 15). The fix was simple:
- export all needed tables who get modified in your database (leagues, player, teamplayerlinks, leagueteamlinks and these stuff)
- import it into a clean/default fifa database file

- and after that it worked

So I need the stuff I usually use to make .CMP files, right? Choose the teams and everything linked with them?
But exporting tables... You mean I'll need DB Master?

Anyway, I'm still stubborn about how this keeps happening. I thought it could be tournament IDs doing that, but even after I find an unused one, the !@#$* game keeps glitching out into the desktop. I still don't know what did I do with Algeria that I'm neglecting on the other three... I keep retracing my steps to no avail.

Yeah I mean you should use db master to export all important tables whicht get changed after your edits...these exported tables you just import into a default/new/never modded before database and then test.
