Okay, I was just reading on the mzone.soccergaming.com site about something about paying.

I didn't pay for MZ football, so will I need to pay for hockey?

I'm in Canada, if that helps....

Can you pay by SMS for FLs, Cups, etc in Canada? If yes, you'll have to pay for MZ Hockey, if not, then no.

Unfortunately, those of us in the UK, Sweden, etc. have to pay. At least it helps MZ though.

Royalty - it depends when he signed up. I didn't have to pay when I joined about a year ago. Now there's a charge for new English managers. Not sure on Canada, see my last reply.

Yeah, lucky that your transfer market is doing well, compared to what it'll be like when the charge is introduced. Unlucky that you can't join FLs, Cups, etc. unless you have a credit / debit card.

I like the SMS payments as they stop cheaters but they kill off the speed of growth in some countries, look at England compared to Argentina. England have had div6 for ages, Argentina have div7 now and they haven't been around fro a year like England, even Poland have overtaken as well, Portugal have as many as England.

Anyway, I'll stop there before I hi-Carlos the thread.

The dutch transfer market sucks btw. Dutch people are asking way too much and there aren't many good players, but i guess that is happening with all countries.

Ah, you have the same problem with England ... I can never find any decent English players anymore, only Swedes, Argies, and Poles. And like you said about overpriced players, when a decent player comes along, only the top teams in that country can afford him, or lots of Swedish sides.

I think the idea is that it's harder to get hold of more than one mobile. Some people will get access to other's but then they'd have to explain why they need it. Some people probably can persuade them to use it even though they could realise it's for cheating, but it keeps the number of cheaters down and they'll get caught if they do something too obvious i.e. high bids for poor quality players.

I see your point but if it does keep the cheating down I don't even want to know how it'd be if there were no charge in Sweden, with all the cheating that's going on right now.

No disrespect to the people spending their sparetime working on MZ for no money at all, I salute you, but I've sent 13 mails reporting obvious cheaters since I started this game in November 2002 or something and every single one of these players are still active. 4-5 are still selling their players for ridiculous amounts of money to the same teams I reported 8 months back! It's pathetic

I hope it keeps cheaters down but I have no doubt there are still cheaters in the game ... at least this keeps them to a minimum. If there was no fee, then in a country such as Sweden, it'd be very hard to keep many of them out I'd think.

And it's not the Crew who stop cheaters btw, but the game assistants. Crew make the game, GAs stop the cheaters and do other various tasks to maintain the quality of the service provided.

MZ are working on introducing some form of payment such as SMS into every country. But it's going to take a while, took long enough for it to happen in England (and longer for debit card payments). I'd think MZ Hockey, both simulators, etc. are more of a priority atm than introducing SMS into other countries, I think I saw Nemesis01 say it could be around 4-6 months in some countries, can't check on the MZ forums as the site's down obviously...
