I say make Denzel Washington the first black Bond ever . . . I read that there used to be some plans on making a black James Bond with Denzel and Cuba Gooding Jr. as the candidates.

See now that really makes no sense. Why would James Bond become black? Its supposed to be the same person right?

If that happens then the next Shaft should be white. :kader:

I'm not mad dude. I'm just saying it really doesn't make any sense.

BTW, is the kader smiley supposed to be used to express anger, or just disapproval?

A black James Bond wouldnt work. I'm not being racist or anything (I'm not allowed to do that anymore) but one of the whole points of James Bond is that he should be a savvy, traditional Brit and, with respect to black people, they're not really traditional Brits. Plus, I cant see Denzel managing that upperclass British accent. But hasnt it already been confirmed as Hugh Carlos*man?

Oh right, is he the guy from Mission Impossible 2? If so he'd be pretty good I think. I'd rathe Clive Owen though.

Dougray Scott was also in Ripley's Game (sequal to "The Talented Mr. Ripley) starring him alongside John Malkovich. Even though the movie was pretty bad Scott put in a good performance.

Superman
oh yeah, that was him too.

damn, I didnt like him in MI2 but he was ok in Ripley's Game. its going to be tricky to accept him as Bond but he'll do well I think.
it all depends on the story.

btw, I think they should step down a little bit with the tech stuff Bond uses. the invisible car in the last movie was stupid (N)

I agree. I mean, it's cool for Bond films to use some artistic license when it comes to gadgets and stuff, but invisible cars are too rediculous.

Goldeneye was the last decent Bond film (and even that can't compare to the Connery or Moore films) but recently they've just been stupid. Gone all sci-fi and crap like that, got no Bond charm at all.:kader:

The most idiotic thing about the last movie is that he managed to get away from some super high-tech nuclear laser beam **** shot from a satellite that could destroy a country in one zap, with only using his invisible car and a freakin` paracute . . . :kader:

I didnt like Goldeneye at all, its one of my least favourites. I really liked Tommorow Never Dies, definately my pick of the new ones. Goldfinger is my all time fav, such an awesome film, I really like From Russia with Love and A View to a Kill too. Die another Day did majorly suck though, except that fencer girl was HOT.

Two very different James Bonds are being considered at the moment. Expect the choice to come from this group of guys. It’s really down to Amy Pascal’s final choice, and as I understand it, she’s in the midst of making her mind up right now. Whoever gets picked starts work soon with Martin Campbell on CASINO ROYALE.
Does she want to go with Julian McMahon, star of TV’s NIP/TUCK and this summer’s FANTASTIC FOUR, who seems like a more movie star glamorous choice, or with Daniel Craig, star of LAYER CAKE and ROAD TO PERDITION, who seems like a hard-ass take-no-**** kind of Bond?
Either way, I think I like those choices. They show more imagination than the knee-jerk “Clive Owen” contingent, and I think there’s the potential for either of these two guys to bring something new to the series, a must if it’s going to remain relevant.

Never even heard of Julian McMahon. Daniel Craig is a really good actor, brilliant in Layer Cake and Enduring Love, but I cant picture him as Bond.

I was expecting Clive Owen or Dougray Scott.
