Which file contains the profiles?

I installed a patch on FIFA '06 and to make a long story short, it screwed up my game. Therefore, I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. However, I don't want to lose my data. I have played 4 seasons and would like to save this if possible. Is this data stored in the profiles and if so, in what folder do I find this?
Is it possible to reinstall the game, then paste this file in the proper folder and pick up where I left off?

Thanks for any help in advance!!!

The install process shouldn't mess with the existing data, but just to be absolutely sure take a backup of the files in the 'FIFA 06' folder in your My Documents folder (and that of any other user that plays the game on the same PC)

Thanks guys... you may think you are a noob, but my next question is going to show who the real noob is. How in the world do you back up this folder? I was going to move it completly to disc, reinstall the game, then place this folder in the proper place. Is this "backing up" the folder...or is it technically copying and pasting? Thanks again for the help.

Hi,

The easiest way to back up the folder is just rename it. In explorer, right click the folder, choose rename to something like "fifa06backup". Uninstall the the game and reinstall. The new install will create a new folder called "fifa06" in the "my Documents" folder. Rename that folder to something like "fifa06original" and rename the "fifa06backup" back to "fifa06". The "B.Manager" & C.Tournaament files in the fifa06 folder do point back to the fifa.db file contained within the program files. So if you made changes to the fifa.db, the new install will not work with your saved career. You can back-up your current fifa.db, by right-clicking it and select copy and just paste it on your desktop. You can always copy/paste it back in the cmn folder after the install.

I hope I didn't confuse you.

so apparently copy and paste does work then.

If you are using windows XP... you can search their help section for "backup" and it will show u the back up utility. you tell it you want to back up certain files on your hard drive. then it collects them all into one place... I use it to back up my entire data folder in the fifa 06 directory.

You can double click that file again to restore it.

One more question. I am trying to find the fifa.db file, but I can't find it anywhere in the FIFA 06 folder. Where exactly is fifa.db within the FIFA 06 folder?

Actually you will find FIFA.DB in 'C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 06\data\cmn' (assuming you've installed to the default location) and it is very different from the language database (eg. ENG.DB)
