the best tranning method is to leave it to the assitnent. but when it seem's that the playears are getting very tired, just change training to tactical(theory). and you saw that there are 4 ir5 matches in the next 2 weeks or just very buzy schedule the chose no traning. one more thing, if U chose assitnent for traning, all the playears will be divided in to 4 groups so you have to chose tactical(theory), no traning 4 each group.

Another trick: For me, when I have only a few days rest between games, I'll zero the Fitness percentage. More energy is available for the week. You just don't want to leave it at zero for too long or too often. Players lose fitness and then lose energy faster. There's a point of diminishing returns.

I usally have more extra players then the 18 (11 main,7 sub) so that it is like two groups, one will play as the other will train, then switch after a few matches. In the train group section, if you only two then one will be a recovery group, anyone below 80 en or so, then do light recovery while the players who have energy does the training. Most of the players that do the match (other then if they have high Stamina) will be in the recovery group most of the time. It is good to have the two group because if you will win the cup matchs, you are almost playing two matches per week, and it takes too much out of a player. Don't forget that commitment settings also makes a big differents on there tireness after a match.

As for the skills for each it is good to have high stamina if you are the underdog of the team in the league, because you will need them to play at a higher commitment to make the differents. Most of the time the middle fielders and the strikers has a lot of enegy lost due to the fact that they have higher work rate. I will say increase the work rate for the defenders if you want them to be more effective. I still try to fine out if the work rate also makes a differents in their trainning, but it is hard to tell sometimes.

Last thing that I found out with testing the training section is that, you can't have 0% in one of the catagory otherwise those player start losing skills in that section. You can have the fitness down 0% some of the time, if they are fully fit to begin with, when they play matches, they get the fitness from there. If you look at the pre-set of the train style even when you are trainning on technique the other catagory still have 10% in them. If you have 0% in "no training" the player finds it too boring also it effects their moale, which plays a part in they rating and training. I am still working on the mental skills of and how it effects they trainning, I do know it effects their playing style. Example will be I have a fast Striker with high speed, but low aggression, the minute he gets the damn ball and it the defence is wide open, he is too scare to attack and shot. Instead he passes to the other striker (4-4-2 formation). If you study the matches live instead of "Instant results" you will start see what your players need to improve on and add that the targeted training goals.

I try to pair the outfield, tactical, mental, physical. Some examples:
work rate - marking
strength - long shot
aggression - shot power - strength
tackle - speed
tackle - anticipation (there is anticipation in both mental and outfield) - strength

If the player is somewhat talented (3 gold stars or more) and good training schedule, and three training camp scheduled and the player played a few matches. The player can have about ~200 skill point increase per season, I am not sure if that is a lot to you guys, but it looks good too me.

A player playing matches are very important to the development of they skills and rating, otherwise the players who are in the reserves would have been really good because they train year round, check it out if when the hoildays comes around, only the yourself and the players in the reserve stay behind. When the players plays a match and it is good, I think they train better. Good match is if the player ends up with 7+ rating at the end of the match, and also if they last form is 10+. If you look at the general number of the player (you only see it if you have the rating and talent check off when you started the game) it goes up with more games and better over all rating through out the season.
