What is the deal with the referee?

I love the game overall but the refereeing annoys the hell out of me. Every single game the AI opposing team choping my players down via sliding and standing tackles and no fouls are given, a slight touch by my players is viewed as a foul in 99% of the cases, and if it is done via a sliding tackle the yellow card is pretty much guaranteed.

I play on the 360 and have had no prob's at all......all seems to be equal to me.

i don't know if you use slide tackle a lot but some of the reviews i read mentioned that you have to be really careful with them. i only slide when i'm pretty sure i have a good angle. but i haven't really noticed a bias. last night, the ref handed out three yellow cards in quick succession to the opposing team. they deserved them too.

I think it depends on the difficulty, when I played on Amateur mode, it was nearly immpoisble to get a striahgt red card.

I think an even bigger problem with the Ref is that he isn't even anywhere to be found on the pitch...! I mean, what is up with THAT?! This is supposed to be next-gen people...!
