Weird (ANNOYING) contract error...

I'm playing my first game with Juve in FM, and I got this young winger from Uruguay, Olivera.

His original contract runs out in 2006 and he makes about 7,000€ a week.

During the end of the first season he asked for a new contract, Now, he had developed into quite a good player, so obviously his demands were very higher. He asked me for about 60,000 a week, 1.5mill. in sign-on fee and some 3K in assist bonus.

At first I tried to go around his wage demands by giving him, say 55.000 a week, 1mill in SOF and 10K in assist bonus. He rejected that contract, so I figured that he didn't fall for the "low wage, big bonus" trick. :p

However, since that I've been in atleast 5 contract negotiations with him, offering him a bit more a week THAN HE ASKS FOR, same for the SOF and really good bonuses, and he STILL rejects it claiming that "he is deserving of a better basic salary"? :| :| :|

Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you work around it, if possible? My only option now it seems, is to sell him, which I'd rather avoid, but if that's the only option, then I guess I'll have to take it.

yeah..... the guys playing with ya... no matter how high you put it he wont accept

i remember with lucio..... i gave him an offer of 1 million pounds a year more than what he already makes.... he rejects and asks for more and by the time i gave up he was rejecting 100000 per week :| (with real madrid in the demo, i was just seeing if i could get him at all) :S

same thing will i try to sign xabi alonso with real madrid in demo. i offer him £180k wages, he reject "deserving of a better basic salary" (H)

no its because the game is trying to simulate the guy being pissed off with you, i had a discussion about it with some of the SI boys, basically leave it about a month dragan and then offer him the contact he wants again, he should accept.

However if you keep doing it every week then hes still pissed off with the original proposition, even if it is higher than he wanted, he doesnt want to stay at a club with a manage he cant trust etc.

The error is the fact it says 'deserves a better salary' when infact it should say 'saying he wants a better salary but actually hes totally pissed off with you'

how do you find out the work permit details, ive been looking at my foreign players, i.e guarin and i cant find the percentage

this was sometimes a problem with CM0304, it often didnt show percentages at certain parts during the season.

What league are you playing in, and what players are you wanting to find the WP for?

He did very well in his first season for me on Roma. His value raised to incredible high standards for him something like 45m. But since he's started to play worser and worser I bought Papa Waigo. He did even better. Then Carew started complaining about a new contract I tried to offer him 60.000 he rejected. Next negotiations he asked 100.000. I was like: 'Lick my ass' So I decided to sell him. Lazio was in need of a striker so they bought him for 20m which was about 4m under his value.

hahaha, thats so typical! I sold him after a season on loan aswell, got about 14m for him.

It totally worked, managed to prolong Olivera's contract (Y)(H)

However, right now I'm on a break from my FM game, cause the apparent "shooting bug" is pissing me off like nothing else :( :kader:

when players demand weeeey too much cash from me and their contract is expiring quite soon i just freeze them out of the first team picture for about a month and have them play reserve football (H) like scott severin at aberdeen, he was asking me for 9k a week :| and his contract was gonna expire in 4 months and celtic and sunderland were both interested, so he had a month with the reserves and the interest went away and he accepted 4k a week (H) :rockman:
