WE7 International??? Can this be true??

OK. It's late and I just came back a wild bachelor party for a friend of mine. I went to gamespot.com to download a manual for Madden 2004 and what do I see? An article about WE7 but something is strange. The last paragraph had me puzzle. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/worldsoccerwinningeleven7/preview_6074706.html

Winning Eleven 7 is currently scheduled to be released in February on the PS2 and PC. We will have more coverage of this game in the coming weeks.

The article is written on 09/05/03. So something must be up. Is this guy living under a rock because WE7 has already been released. Then after reading the article again, I begin to suspect that he is actually talking about WE7 International. After snooping around gamespot, I found out that this article is part of KONAMI's press event called KONAMI Editors' Day 2003 which was held in San Francisco.

If this is true, than great news for North American footie gamers. Now, what is the chance that KONAMI is actually going to update the rosters this time around and put a star player on the cover.

Wow, maybe we'll get WE7:I for the PS2 and PC here as they're releasing PES3 for the PC in Europe.

How freaking awesome will that be?

As soon as PES3 gets on PC this section will turn out like the FIFA section.

What ? You mean the kit editing and stuff ? Highly doubt it man, when a game is so much fun by playin` it, you won`t get the time to edit it, you just wanna play it.

Most of the editors at the FIFA forum edit the game simply because the game is so ****in` boring, that we don`t know what else to do with it :D

Wow, sounds like WE7I in february in the USA. Thanks, I might just wait the few extra months instead of modding my ps2.

It's going to rock.

I'll probably wind up buying both PES 3 and WE7:I for the PC if both are released. I've gotten so much enjoyment out of playing the series on the PSX emulator that I'm going to support Konami in whatever way I can.

I'm also looking forward to editing the kits. Can you imagine what some of the patch makers are going to do with this title?

yeah right... based on your sig i bet you're going to be the first one who'll edit the ManU shirts for night after night, until it's perfect....

besides.. what's the problem with editing. and what if some people have more fun editing a game than playing... why not?

there is a lot even in this game that i would like to change and with the PC version coming out this will finally be possible. no need to be so purist...

How do you guys know the data files will be editable? maybe Konami will change them for the PC version.

I'm getting the PC version, and i'll make a usb-xbox adapter just so i can play with my xbox pad, I already have like 3 lumps on my thumb from using that hellish ps2 pad, and playing with the keyboard will probably suck.

Also, multiplayer mode shall be god-like, it would be even more orgasmic to have online leagues and such, but I don't think it will happen.

Because they are files ;) It's not a matter of Konami making them editable or not. Someone will find a way to pull the graphics/textures out of the game.
