i think brazil should just drop all the old people from the team (ronaldo, emerson, cafu, roberto carlos, etc, etc) and put some young people that have a hunger for glory, these players are 1)multi millionares and 2)already won world cups, champions leagues, etc, etc, they already have it all, whats their motivation?? that is what you could see in this match, even when they were losing they were all relaxed, passing the ball from side to side, it was pathetic.

You could also say the same for half the French team; Zidane, Henry, Barthez, Thuram, Vieira, Makelele. They've all been there and done it before. But you can't criticise them for lack of passion.

Brazil need to get over themselves and play to their strengths as a real TEAM, this is what happens when your lineup is based on reputation rather than one built around a clear and specific game plan (ala Real Madrid). Players like Ronaldinho were ineffective because they were playing out of position just so that all the big names can start on the team.

France totally owned that slighty overrated and a bit prepontent team called Brazil. I want to see what Pontiakos have to say about this team that don't play good but win their matches :X

Also, it's clear Zidane is done and Ronaldinho is the God of football.

I am in shock but the better team won. France deserve to win and Zidane he just a pure legend period. Brazil did not show nothing of the jogo bonito and paid the price to not step-up there game.

Zidane was just great. He's still has a bit left in him. Henry, he's been mediocore throughout the group stages but has been doing good so far. For Brazil, I dont think Juan was good at all, IMO. Ronaldo should have been subbed. Ronaldinho was played out of position but started to actually be good only in the begining of the match.

Totally deserved win for the French team, they outplayed Brazil during the whole match.

Zidane leaves me speechless. He's just incredibly good, what a f'cking legend man.
I sincerely hope he has a great match against Portugal, but not good enough to avoid our win of course

what a poor WC by Brazil though, I'm really disappointed.
Today there was a lot of Brazilian people in our streets sharing the joy of our win against England, and I really wanted to be happy for them too right now.
But hey, you can't have everything I guess

Absolutely brilliant display of skill by Zidane. I was amazed and I am still shocked. I don't need to repeat what I've already said about Zidane. He is a magician. He is inspirational. He is the legend of all legends.

Brasil didn't deserve a f*cking thing from this World Cup. They came in thinking(like most of their fans i.e. WilliamFAlmeida) that thy would win by just stepping on the field.

With so much talent on the squad, it was all put to waste. I also can't believe how bad Ronaldinho was. All the hype of the World Cup was about him and he choked. big time.

With that said, Zidane played the match of his life. He seems to step up when his country needs him. He played a flawless match, looking like the Zizou of 2000. Amazing performance. France totally deserved the win.

Both teams have been disappointing in this world cup but France were definitely the better team tonight. Zidane deserved a goal for his performance dammit and not henry. Brazil deserved to lose...heck they should have loss against ghana.

Like many, I expected Ronaldinho and Brazil to smack France home and send Zidane into retirement.

I am very glad Zizou showed me his magic and showed me why it is called the beautiful game.

Didnt enjoy the match too much, except whenever Zidane touched the ball.

Ronaldinho choked, Zidane did the polar opposite.
