it was a fair red card. time to go home australia
yep, not intentional, but fair call.

Australia had a decent shot at this game before this. Now Aussies will drop to the floor at every challenge to get a Ghanaian sent off.

Joachim Löw was sitting in the stands scribbling down notes for the Ghana clash, which probably said: "DO NOT TOUCH BALL WITH HAND".

The commentators on Australian tv are so crap it's not even funny, I've been trying to work out how to raise the volume of the vuvuzelas to drown them out.

Ghana were quite poor IMO, I wouldn't be terribly happy if I was supporting them. This was their golden chance to grab a place in the next phase, and they failed to do it against 10 men, their play completely lacked creativity, relying on powerful runs and shots from distance, gradually Australia felt more comfortable and ventured out and attacked the Ghana goal, and it was Australia that looked closer to scoring. If the send-off hadn't happened I couldn't see how Ghana could win this game.

I don't think Germany has much to worry about, provided they don't concede penalties or experience a brain snap.

Harry Kewell's tournament is most probably over after just 25 minutes of gameplay, so is Craig Moore's, our main centre-back, he picked up two yellows, but we get Tim Cahill back for the task of thrashing Serbia by 3 or more goals, should be a walk in the park.

It's been a while since we've had an Australia WC game that hasn't been marked by a major refereeing decision, not to say it was wrong, just that it changed the course of the game drastically. I'm hoping for a clean game again Serbia.

Kind of sad to see the state of Australian football. Seemed to be a bit of a Golden Generation (for you guys), but it's aging and no one is replacing them. Way too many 33+ guys.

Yeah, but we'll still qualify for every coming world cup, because we'll still be in Asia (H)

Wish you guys the best because your country is probably the one most similar to mine, but Asia isn't THAT much of a pushover.

Thanks mate. Japan and S.Korea are certainly not push overs, but there's less to be said for the rest.
If New Zealand can make it to the world cup (beating the 5th placed Asian side), with 90% of their squad having never played outside of Australia or NZ, then I think Australia should be safe.
