view fifa.db potential

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how I can extrapolate a players maximum overall score from the data stored in fifa.db. There is a potential field but it does not match up 1to1 with a players maximum overall value. If someone has the formula for calculating this that would be great.

Otherwise I would like to know if it is possible to edit any of the config / database files so that a level10 scout can see a players growth over 10years as opposed to the default 6. There are a few 17 year old players that I know grow over 8-10 years and I'm interested to know what value they can reach.

thanks Alex.

In the table "curves" find the "growth" of players
The potential of the player is a combination of factors between the table "curves" and the initial value.:Carlos*o:

OK I guess no-one except the developers really know how to calculate the maximum OVR achievable by each player.

So does anyone know if it's possible to modify the scout so he can see player growth over more than 6years. I have found in fifa.db where you can change the upgrade price but that is the closest I've been thus far.

Not so, since I believe I understand how it all works (assuming no changes from FIFA 07, I've not got far enough along in a FIFA 08 career to produce data for comparison purposes but checking values in one or two careers that people have sent me things look correct thus far). However, it is not something you can work out in your head, and in manager mode it is also dependent on the XP system data which you can't view with any of the traditional tools.

The basic principle is that each player's starting attributes, plus any deltas from the match XP system, are adjusted using one of fifteen attribute development curves (or one of three physical development curves for a handful of attributes) according to the player's age at a fixed point in the season. These adjusted ratings may be above or below their starting point, depending on whether the player is on the upward or downward side of the curve, but are then capped by their potential (although an attribute that starts above the potential stays at that level - it doesn't get reduced by the potential only, possibly, by the development curve) which itself may have been adjusted upwards because of the match XP data (although that can only ever apply to a maximum of sixty players who are, or have at some time been, on the manager's team) and rounded to the nearest integer.

The adjusted attributes are then used to calculate a new overall rating in the same way as they would be for unadjusted attribute values (ie. using a weighted average of the primary attributes)

I doubt it because it would appear to be calculation based on the staff level of your scout and that is not made explicit via any external parameter.
