Thanks for the links Nack.

Again the commentary serously lacks passion and variety.

There is a lag between commentary and real action and also between the referee's whistle and the action but that's caused by the recording i hope.

Yeah, thanks for the link mate!

I agree, there seems to be no passion among the commentators, but that's the same problem in the FIFA series.

I was a bit disappointed with the commentary there....it seemed like the exact phrases from PES6 except different people saying them. They say the same things more or less every year...hopefully they put in more lines, so you won't get bored of the commentary after only one game...

jon motson is the one who had all the passion

Good old Jon Champion, really is like watching ITV Champions League, all be it ITV Champions League minus Clive "That night in Istanbul" Tilsley.

Lawro on the other hand, oh dear oh dear oh dear.

I prefered Peter Brackley's voice.. I don't like jon champion's voice at all. and fans all over have been asking to change the commentators but from what I heard it's pretty much the same lines with another, uglier voice :p I hope there's some kinda trick to switch it to Mark Lawrenson :P

listened to the Podcast on Winning Eleven Next Gen Blog and Adam said he was at a Trade show and the Konami guys let him have a go at a build that was only a few week old. Far better game play and slower than the demo released to the public.

But on the Commentary he was disappointed the new guys were fine but the script was not that much better than the old one of PES6 and he mentioned the fact that it did lack luster and not only that he said that it sound like they had done it in parts and joined it together.

It would be "ball comes to KAKA and he shoots" but the KAKA sounded flat like they had read the names out in a different recording and then the blank spaces of commentary were filled with the player on the ball.

Didn't like the sound of that,

Stuart Hall & Vinnie Jones....

The commentary is definitely a bit wooden sounding, I have to admit, but it's only a small sample and it's not the final version. The commentary is where EA rule. I quite like Tyldesley, and the way EA do it, it always sounds semi-spontaneous - it really blends in well with the action of any particular game. With PES, it has more of a generic feel and there is less attention paid to which particular player is on the ball. Granted, EA have overdone this aspect this year and are only a step away from adding commentary about what each of the fans is doing with their can of lager or flag, but it is better overall.

In every other respect, however....

Hopefully someone will release a fifa07/08 joined commentary conversion/patch for pes2008 like they did for PES 6, totally changed the atmosphere of the game. Maybe I should give the sound editing a go for myself, once the right tools are released :)

wow, why in the world did KONAMI include the SOUND of the passing and dribbling????

When you watch a footie match on TV, do you hear these sounds so clearly??

Thankfully for the PC this should be editable, because that is just terrible game design.

Why? I love those sounds. I think it makes the game and the overall environment much more realistic.

Whenever I hear the sounds of dribbling it reminds me of old-school backyard football, heh...
