Make America Great Again
Hey guys, it's October 5th, so what else would I be doing but planning my Spring Break trip which starts March 6th. I need some suggestions of where to go. I want it to be warm (tropical if possible), a good destination for young people (not kids. I want the place to have a lot of debauchery), and affordable. I thought Ibiza would be the perfect choice, but I hear that it really only gets going in the summer. Grand Cayman could be a good idea, I stopped there on a cruise last spring and could see me spending time there.

Then there's the Mexican resorts like Cancun, Cozumel, and whatever else, but I don't know. I'd also like to get out of the US, although it's not necessarily a requirement.

Let's throw out some ideas here. Ideally I would spend under $2000 for the whole trip including airfare and hotel, but the lower the better. Anyone gone on any cool trips that fit my requirements?

Rio? I won't be here to show you around (work stuff, mostly... also, I don't think I'd be a good guide), but it really depends on how long you plan to stay. It'll be nice to be here for a couple of days, but not much more than a a few weeks... there isn't really that much to see... I'm not sure when carnival is next year, but you could get lucky and be around here for that...

warm (tropical) - check
debauchery - ha!
affordable - not so sure, as the dollar really devaluated here over the last few months. Also, if you come during carnival, prices go way up...

The bad things, of course... national championship won't be on, so forget a decent level of football at the Maracana. Maybe if some Rio side get into Libertadores.
Security. well... you've got to mention it. Not as bad as many people think (including me, when I didn't live here), but still a bit on the dangerous side. The main tourist places are ok, and you shouldn't have a problem there at all.

Anyway, check this out if you're interested:

Also, that travelpod site has plenty of tourists who have visited a lot of nice places, so you may want to check that just to read about it.

Why am I not asleep right now damn it?

I've actually looked into hotels and flights and feel like I can do Aruba for $850; $750 if I go with 2 other people instead of just 1. That doesn't include food/booze, but I'm sure I can buy awesome $10 caribbean rum in some grocery store. Alex I'm telling you man, ARUBA! Ideally I want to stay for 10 nights, but you can do 7 on about the same budget (about $100 less total per person for the little hotel I'm looking at).

My only obstacle now is convincing my friend to do 10 nights. Dude has a job, and under my plan we would leave on a Friday, stay the next week, and get back on Monday. That's 7 work days he'd have to take off, so I don't know. I'd only miss 1 day of classes.

Still up... (5:23 AM on the East coast).

I've pretty much given up on Business Law and have moved on the Business Communications and French Phonetics HW.

I'm probably still going to make at least a B on that exam so no point in studying more.

Aruba sounds more and more like and actual plausible idea man. What if we just randomly bumped into each other over there during our respective spring breaks man? It would be 2 bottles of rum a night, hospital visit included.

BTW Folgers coffee sucks so much dick. It's the worst coffee ever. I put like 3 times as much in the coffee maker than the container suggested and it's still pretty much tastes like water even though it's the color of ass leakage.

**** this random **** man, let's get rooms in the same hotel. The one I found is the second cheapest place on the island, but the cheapest one is out of the way. This one is right near all the cool stuff.

Probably not booking until January though, don't want to get ahead of myself. Actually, I might book early. I guess there's something to be said to pay for everything 4 months in advance, and then I can just not worry about saving much money up.

The only reason I'm not seriously considering Central America is the language. If I spoke Spanish, I think I would go somewhere like Honduras, Guatemala, or Nicaragua.
