It's just a superhero film, to me. You can slap political rhetoric into it, but, at the end of the day, it's a dick in a cape.

Calm me old-fashioned, but I prefer my rebellion to be carried out by skint people who used to work down t'mines.

Looks crap. Having the main character wear a mask the whole time is just stupid. How can the viewers feel any emotion from him if he's got a face of stone throughout? Sure, it works in comic book form but on screen it's just a disaster waiting to happen.

And that Natalie Portman couldn't hold down that accent for longer than five minutes if it was fastened round her waist with those straps you put 'round massive suitcases.

From the scenes I've seen, the script is just drab with some awful awful dialogue.

I'll be staying away from this one.

But, meh, I'm just pessimistic. My brother watched it and said it was awesome and that I was an idiot for refusing to watch it.

Uhh, that film was poor.

Some good action scenes but the rest was boring as sh*te. Hugo Weaving needs to learn how to read Shakespeare properly and not just babble it constantly.. (the intro bit, Jesus Christ!) And the voice of Natalie Portman grated and grated and grated throughout, how the yanks still think we talk like that, i'll never know. A lot of people saying 'Bloody Hell' and 'Boll*cks' didn't help either, you can cast British actors but giving them a script with this constant sh*te wont convince anybody that this is in any way 'British'.

It just felt so 'up itself' thinking it was spreading righteous messages, and making the hero a sort of villian as well (ooo isnt that such a beautiful twist..!).

It says something when the original writer of the comic wants nothing to do with the film because its so badly written and different from the thing its based on.

2/10 for me.

Well this is by far the best movie of 2006 as far as I'm concerned. The effect of the protagonist (V) on screen is mesmorising. The mix of political history, lyrical poetry, and pure hatred for the ruling class is by the best I've seen since The Matrix.

The scene in the begining were music was set to the explosion of a building was hillarious. I also loved the way that V was shown to carry out his list of vengence, like a black angel of death, silent, effective, and focused.
