Depends on what you want to do. Editing player ratings in the full game can help reduce the effectiveness of the cheats by quite a bit: when the boosts kick in, the game isn't as unbalanced and the CPU isn't as overpowered. But most people don't consider that an option because editing players messes with career mode.

I do not understand the meaning of your last sentence.....
I have edited hundreds of players on PS4 DB, in accordance with their real attributes and lowering agility and acceleration .
I don't see any mess in career mod because of this....
May you elaborate a bit more?

If player ratings are lowered, then players' transfer value decreases, and it becomes easier to buy players if team budgets haven't been lowered as well. Also, youth player ratings then need to be edited as well, otherwise youth players coming in will be rated higher than many veteran players.

    Ah, ok.
Of course it's very logical what you say.
I did not think about it.
Still I prefer these problems rather than seeing/using a player with 90-90-90 (Speed-Acc-Agi)
with that type of player you can do whatever you want, even a coast to coast!
What do you think about sliders? I tried to change key values and the game looks a lot less frantic and more realistic, like
    speed 35
    acceleration 49
    65 pass error
    shoot speed 49
    First touch 70
Even in career mode, especially on Pro mode..
    Game version 1.01
    Thanks bangus.

I also find the gameplay of a friendly match much more realistic
Maybe i'm wrong, but it seems to me CPU does not kick in cheats and boost as in career mode
Thinking to build up a fake Tournament with Excel sheet, using only friendly matches.
    More fun.

bangus , it's very interesting! I will be trying using that Line Sliders, thanks!
Also very interesting all what here saying. I'm also always change First touch and Pass CPU errors to 75-80.
But the truth is there's a problem for me: play at Pro too easily. While on World level it too hard. So I don't know what I should do - improve all CPU ability and awareness (like positioning, aggression, reactions, defensive ability and so on) and play on Pro? Or vice versa lower all players abilities down, and play on World Class?  :)
And further. Right now I'm download demo version back.))

World Class is where the cheats kick in big time, Pro IMO plays the most realistic. I would stick with Pro and improve the CPU, just raising CPU speed and accel sliders a few points would make a big difference in difficulty.

    Already tried, dozen of times...
Your suggestions do not work because of the structural weakness of the defense in pro mode.
Raising marking does not work too ..
    Too easy.

I would stick with Pro and improve the CPU

Improving the CPU isn't just about sliders, you will see a big difference in CPU defensive awareness by raising positioning and reactions. When I see a particular weakness in the gameplay, I re-rate all players to compensate. For example, I re-rate long shot ratings from 79-99, so that no player is lower than 79. If you find CPU defense is too weak, re-rate positioning and reactions to 79-99, or 69-99. If you also edit the career youth attributes table, then youth players in career will be rated the same as well.

Fidel's mod or Frisgon's mod also addresses CPU defensive issues, check those out.

Yes, i'd stick with Pro mode too.
In my last post i was referring to gameplay on ps4 (on which, editing, as you know, is much longer.
Fortunately i have a PC version too
    I'll give it a try
    A question.
    Which game version is recommended:
    1.00-1.01-1.02
The last one is the worst, I think..
    Thanks Bangus

bangus , what result increasing long shot ratings? CPU trying more often shoot from long distance?
I totally agree that the Pro is much more realistic play, than world class as a whole. But as fideco says, in Pro level the structural weakness of the defense very very badly. On Pro any player of my team can run through the cpu defense in alone. Cpu defenders just stay and look. :(
Anyway I will stick Pro (gameplay really more fun and pleasure). Moreover, I have not yet tried so strong increase reaction and positioning, as you. So hope is still there. :)
    Thanks.

I downloaded the game when it came out and haven't updated, that's the one I use, lol.

Another thing about speed and accel sliders: I suggested to raise CPU speed and accel by a few points. But you can also raise those sliders by 10 or 15 or 20 points. And you can lower user speed and accel sliders as well. At some point, with just using those sliders, you can find a balance where the gameplay on Pro is no longer easy.

Something else to try, even if it's just to see how the line sliders can in fact improve CPU defense. Set CPU Height and Length sliders to 20, or 10 or even 0. The lower those are, the tighter the CPU will play in its end. Again, just try this as a test for a couple of games. If you like what you see, then use the line sliders in combination with speed and accel sliders to help improve CPU defense.

Yes, it's one of those coding issues in the game that can be completely fixed by simply re-rating players a bit differently. There are a few player ratings in the game that are just too high or too low, and re-rating players more or less fixes the issues caused by improperly-rated players. Other people prefer cl codes and such to fix issues, but I just go ahead and edit the db, that's my approach.

Ok, thanks. I will try different combinations of sliders more and more.))
And re-rate reaction and positioning to increase.
Also we have slider Positioning: Marking - CPU. Not important? I tried it to 95, but did not notice the difference... Maybe need play more games.

Sorry, but i do not agree about that
If H and L are too low, the CPU will always try to "parking the bus", near the box..
The defense moves back too much and midfield is yours...
It's very tricky if not impossible to set-up a solid defense CPU only messing with sliders on PRO mode.
I tried everything for weeks without success.
The better thing to do is give up PS4 version for PC version modded.
    Thanks bangus

First, I don't share ideas to argue if they work or not. Honestly, that's why I never share my mods, every time I do, the person writes back and says something like, "That doesn't work" or "This isn't very good." Okay great... nonetheless it works for ME and it's good for ME. That's all I care about. Another example: I mentioned my long shot editing fix a while ago, someone responded and said people won't use it because it's unrealistic. Unrealistic for whom? And why should I even care about something like that? I edit the game so it works for me, period. I don't care if people use my ideas, or if they think my ideas are good or bad or realistic or unrealistic. I throw out ideas for people to try or not try, that's all. No two people will ever agree on what's best, and everyone has their own subjective idea about what realistic means.

Anyway, you say the defense plays park the bus. But IMO, when you lower line sliders like that, the defense finally plays realistically. Default FIFA is set up to have wide open games and to make it easy to score goals. That's why the CPU never has more than 4 or 5 players back defending. But in real life, teams have 7, 8 or even 9 players coming back to defend. When you lower line sliders, CPU teams' defensive setup looks and plays like real-life teams' defensive setup... IMO. Regardless, one thing it absolutely does do, is help with the poor CPU defense issue. The more CPU defenders, the tougher it is to break through the defense and get a shot away.

But again, it's all about the individual and how they play the game, and what they want from the game. I play on Pro, manual settings, 15 minute halves. My games all end up 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, with 6-12 shots per team after a half hour of playing. There's not a lot of action in my games... just like real football. I walk the ball around the pitch half the game, I don't run end to end. I don't take advantage of the CPU defense. I build play up and let the CPU position themselves properly. But I've also made changes to the game that help fix the CPU defense as well. Everybody plays the game differently, so it's impossible to come up with fixes that everyone will want to use.

    Good point, bangus. ))
At first I played exactly the same way ,15 minutes, manual control. But 15 minutes it's too long for me, besides I'm too tired of manual control. It is necessary to aim pass and shot very precisely and as a result, this led to the fact that the I again took the one player, and go through entire team of the CPU. :)
Now I'm playing 10 minutes and semi-manual. And with your help , game seems to become a little bit better. ))

That's good (Y). Again though, the way you play will change how the game plays. I play all manual controls which makes it harder to connect with passes and make my way through the CPU defense, for example. If you play with semi controls, all that will be easier. Also, I play with a zoomed in Pro Cam, so I can only see a small part of the pitch. I can't see most of my players or CPU players coming up from behind me. That makes it much harder to play the game and connect passes than if you play with a zoomed out broadcast cam.

I am not telling you to switch controls, I am just giving examples of why Pro is maybe easier for you than me. The problem isn't just the game necessarily, it's the way each person plays the game.
