Lets play the IF game and place Donovan instead of Wondolowski at the dying seconds against Courtois.

we should have been playing argentina but wondolowski is a selfish player who could have easily knocked the ball on to the more experienced and more composed dempsey for the win.

why wondolowski was even on the roster boggles my mind, donovan or wondolowski, klinsman is a dumbass.

Twenty-two man squad to play Czech Republic.

GOALKEEPERS (3): Cody Cropper (Southampton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (7): John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Greg Garza (Club Tijuana), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Michael Orozco (Puebla), Tim Ream (Bolton)

MIDFIELDERS (7): Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), Emerson Hyndman (Fulham), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), Brek Shea (Stoke City)

FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Joe Gyau (Borussia Dortmund II), Jordan Morris (Stanford), Rubio Rubin (Utrecht), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich)

Might get stomped. Nice to see new players though. If Jordan Morris impresses I assume a European team can just straight up offer him a contract, it's not as if Stanford can put a claim on someone they aren't paying.

awesome news ... no one thinks the fast-tracking is anything other than Jürgen wanting to lock him into the USMNT ...

Well yeah, that's probably the case, but I can't blame him for that.

Bobby, do you know anything more than "good looking central midfielder" about this Hyndman character at Fulham?

Bobby

The Legend
He's very mature and professional for his age and a very, very good passer of the ball. Probably could stand to become physically stronger because of the crap he'll deal with against smaller CONCACAF teams.

I really like the U-20s. Saw the game against New Zealand and there's some serious talent here. Hyndman, Bradford Jamieson, Rubin, Zelalem, and especially Carter-Vickers really impressed for me. Wouldn't surprise me if they are all on the next World Cup team, and I think Rubin and Carter-Vickers could even start.

The Von Trapps
that's good to hear ... I took a look at the squad, and expected a few more German based players ... biggest surprise was to see a kid from Boca Juniors ... is he any good?

---

interesting to see Qatar and Hungary at a youth World Cup ...

also noticed Cholo Simeone's son Giovanni in the Argie squad ... guess he chose not to play for Spain, like Zidane Jr. ... isn't one of Beckham's kids Spanish too?
