Unable to start FIFA2005 after Sweetpatch mega update?

Hi guys,

After installing Sweetpatch Episo 4, my FIFA2005 was unable to start sometime after from the 10th games onwards! (Note that, not all the time, I would say it's 50% successful rate).

I would have to restart my PC to restart FIFA2005 successfully, and yet, sometime, it's still failed to start!

Any idea what went wrong?

I have AVG Free Antivirus,Adware, spybot, spyblaster as well as MS Antispyware on my pc.

I hope you guys could help me out here!

Delete all your files in your FIFA 2005 folder in "My Documents" except your parameters. But you have to delete your career and your transfers (+ created players) file

Hi Pegasus,

Got it. However what do you mean by the 'parametres" files?

I have the following folders/files in My Documents"-

1. A.Setting.
2. D.Squards.
3. User with Ditty folder, config.dat and mappings.dat.

Worth to mentioned, I have a locale.cfg and those linemen patch files(x3) in the my FIFA2005 folder.

I do not have any CC2005 created files as I don't use CC2005.


I hope you would advice me which folder/files are supposed to go?

By "parameters" I meant "Settings", sorry

Delete the "Squads" folder, it surely makes a conflict with the Sweetpatch update (it's said in the readme.txt file)

Thanks for the advice. In fact I deleted those files before I installed Sweetpatch. But after 10 games, then the problem started to appeared.

However, I did find something very strange!!! I have MS Antispyware installed. So, if I shutdown MS Antispyware, somehow, the successful rate of executing FIFA2005 is 9 out of 10 !!! This really beat me!!

Just wonder anyone think that MS Antispyware could had cause the failure of fifa2005's execution or anyone had actually experience it?
