Ukrainian Premier League patch on fifaonline.com.ua?

I just googled a bit and found a Ukrainian Premier League patch for Fifa 12 on this site: http://fifaonline.com.ua/load/fifa_12_patch/ukrainian_league_fifa_12/55 (or originally: http://fifaua.com/fifa-2012/fifa-12-upl/68-fifa-12-ukrainskaya-premer-liga.html).

I'm currently downloading the files. Before I start messing around with my Fifa 12 installation I'd be curious to find out if anyone of you guys has tried this patch? Is it any good?

I have already downloaded this file....u will find three .exe file inside the zip.....sorry to say it is not working....i mean incomplete patch...error in team name....manegar mode will crash...much more...hope u will find....

I took the risk to install the patch plus the update over my installation of Fifa 12. After installation the game would not start anymore (crashed to desktop when starting, even before the logo was shown). I'm currently doing a clean install and will try the patch again. Can you give me a list of all files I need to save before installing, so that I can restore the orginal game?

My problems may also be the result of my German Windows and Fifa 12 installation (I guess you'll probably be using Russian or Ukrainian ones?). If there are any differences I might help out giving some reports on my progress...

Update: same problem again. Installed the patch over a clean install. After that the game crashes immediately when started (just see the grey screen for a second, and before the logo is shown the game crashes and leaves me a FIFACrashDump file. As the crash comes so early - could it be that the patch changed the logo to something that cannot be displayed?

I'm having exactly the same problem also after a clean install. The game crashes immediately after starting before the first screen. On their website i saw other people with the same problem.

Hope it will be fixed because this is one of the best league's that's missing. Still cannot believe why it's not in the game as default. The UPL is better than at least 75% of the league's in FIFA 12 but EA doesn't show a lot of love for Eastern European teams. Especially Shakthar and Dinamo should always be part of European Cup soccer. That's my opinion and i'm not even from that region.

I will check. After installing the patch I found those files in my loc folder:

rus_ru-meta.xml rus_ru.db

If I remember correctly, before the installation of the patch there had been a locale.big, this is now missing. I have not yet applied the update, but the problem was the same last time I tried it with the update. I'll try again tonight.

Since I'm running a German version of Fifa 12, could it be that my installation is missing some files which in combination with the above lead to some inconsistency?

I have a backup of my original locale.big file and i have the updated fixed locale.big version from UPL 2.1. but both don't work.

Like herbert said there is rus_ru-meta.xml and rus_ru.db in the loc folder but there are no other language versions. Is that the problem?

I think yes. Copy the rest of your locals to that folder, open the rus database dbmaster and copy the new entries to (for example) eng_us.db. This should work fine

i have tried 4-5 times..bt it did't work.....i have those file...tell me the steps u have applied..

Well, that's what you get when you run CM12, correct?

If that is correct, simply copying ru_ru-metadata.xml and ru_ru.db over the corresponding ger* or en* files should have the same effect.

I tried this out, but it did not make any difference.

Actually, I tend to think that the problem (at least not this one) is about the language files, because the game crashes even before the logo is shown after which normally the language selection follows.

I don't know how the game works internally, but from my experience as a developer I'd say that if there are translations missing there would always be a hard-coded fallback value. A crashing application seems very untypical to me.

Maybe the patch developers can comment on my idea about what is loaded first when the application is coming up?

so you should now have all lang dbs, locale.ini & an empty 13 kb sized locale.big in the loc folder.

regenerate & run the game, should work as long as there isnt an error w/ the patch's db.

When opening the database in CM12 I get this situation automatically.

However I cannot delete the locale.ini from locale.big as it makes fm12 crash. I extracted it and placed it along the other files in that dir anyway.

I saved the database from CM12, but that did not help.

One more thing: has anybody managed to read what is in the crash files that fifa creates when crashing? Maybe that could help here?

That was after selecting the specific language file. Just a guess, but maybe german version is not working with russian language? Try to copy the records with new teamnames in DBM, paste them to a clean language file (english or german) and replace the russian language file with the original one. Oh and check if you have something new in rna.ini (like automatical choosing russian)
