In Lisbon AZ didn't bother to attack. Scored a goal on their first shot, and then parked the bus in front of the goal. Sporting is playing a very, very classy and enjoyable soccer. Fate found a way. Miguel Garcia is the name. UEFA Cup is the trophy.

What game have you been watching yesterday, AZ showed them all the corners of the pitch in the 2nd half. They were lucky to score in extratime/injurytime and that the ref added 2 mins extra that's all.
I don't like the way Sporting plays but then again im not a fan of Portugal football period! I rather watch EPL football from the UK or Spanish, hell even Italian is better than Portuguese football.
And as far as the Uefacup goes, If Moscow will not be punished that hard you face them and frankly I put my cards on CSK.

The only i said is that AZ played the first leg almost only deffending. And Sure I also prefer 'EPL', or 'La Liga' but that doesn't stop me from being proud of what my team achieved yesterday. Be fair, that is all i'm asking.

well, you're not exactly going out on a limb there are you? You could probably add German and French football to that list too. Maybe Dutch too, who knows, but then again the record between Dutch and Portuguese club and national teams over the past couple decades certainly favours us...in any case, that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say Portuguese football is borring. It certainly has it's flaws, but borring isn't one of them. Maybe Mourinho's Porto could have been considered borring to the uneducated footy fan, to others it was strategy and tactics...anyhow, it certainly was effective.

About the last minute goal, you know how many times Portuguese teams have lost or been eliminated because of last second goals? Lots...sometimes you have luck on your side, sometimes not. That's just the nature of the game, so you can either accept it, suck it up, or continue whining about it..

Neither one of our countries has a 5 star league, but we both have clubs with alot of heart and passion. And a tremendous amount of homegrown talent that all the bigger countries want to buy. Heh, that's really nice. I definitely favor Miguel over Ferreira though, soley based on one match. You MUST have a better leftback than Gio?! I'd definitely put one of the young Dutch guys over Rui Costa though, someone like van der Vaart, van Bommel or Sneijder.
