CSKA are a more balanced team than Sporting. They defend much better than Sporting, although Sporting has a much better attack.

Joao Moutinho  what a game today for the 18 year old prodigy. He oozes class already, wonder how he'll be in 5 years.

I guess we really need to feel for the Dutch people, watching 2 of their clubs get knocked out of Europe, under the crullest circumstances. Anyway, I'd like to congratulate Sporting on making it the third year in a row that a Portuguese club has made it to a European final. Now, only if we had beaten CSKA in the round of 32.....

massive respect to dutch football from me from now on... not even the fact that Kezman scored 40+ goals a season in their football and he sucks monkey balls will change that.

C'mon , unfair my ass, the two sides deserved to go through, Sporting were the luckiest. But don't give me that **** about injustice , Sporting played better overall, created lots of chances, played great football , even in the minutes of desesperation we're still playing like we always do: passing the ball in a magnificent way, beatifull build-up play. The Az goal's were just a product of how weak the Sporting's defense is. But i do agree with Virgo: Peseiro almost screwed, we shouldn't have defended the 1-1, mostly because we showed, in 20,30 minutes off the first half that we are clearly better, and we absolutely suck at defence. :nape:

So , if you dutchies feel ressented by the yesterday's unfair result , don't mix up two antagonical scenarios. Anyway , it was a great game, my congratulations to AZ (except that bald asshole Van douchebag galen) and his supporters.

PS: To all portuguese, they will understand... Miguel Garcia , que herói inesperado... Depois de ter encarnado o papel de carrasco na taça , agora salva-nos... que irónico! :fool:

That was the first thing I thought after he scored! Well, the second.

Congrats to Sporting! This is an historical moment for them and for Portuguese football. I can only imagine how happy you are and you fully deserve it.

A special word to AZ too, because they had a fantastic UEFA Cup run and in the end they were very unfortunate. They should be extremely proud of what they did!

Agree 100%. Kezman - bad; Dutch Football and AZ- good.

Here's something I wrote tonight on another thread, midway through the 1st half. I think this gives a good picture of the new UEFA Cup finalist greatest strength:

You got to give to Sporting. I know from first-hand experience that playing for the title in the domestic league and, at the same time, facing the toughest opponents in the world for a place in an european final is super tough. Look at how tired Chelsea players were and how many injuries Sporting is collecting. Still, they show a lot of heart and keep fighting back, usually playing good football.

I remember 2 years ago when we clinched a place in the final. Know exactly how excited I felt that day, sort of like an on-going orgasm. Hmmm. :lui:

It was damn unfair to AZ to lose that way, they were by far the best team in most of the game...i think Sporting didn't deserve to go to the final and the luck was on their side... still they believed they could make it until the last minute and that was a brilliant attitude, congratulations for that and for representing so well our football this year.

Sporting was very very lucky tonight, scoring in the last f*cking minute it's always the same story for Dutch teams :(
AZ deserved to go through tonight, not Sporting but I congratulate them never the less with the finals. Bad luck for PSV yesterday and bad luck for AZ today but they showed the world that Dutch Football is on the up again!

Attacking football is history... :(

hmm? come on Sporting are much more of an attacking minded team than AZ and that's exactly why they suffered so much, they can't defend for their lives.

What a game! From start to finish it was a classic. Great play, die hard attitudes, great goals, determination throughout and the team I was cheering for (Sporting since I wanted the story book finish with them playing the final in their own stadium) came back and won it (well really lost, but won what really mattered) on aggregate. Great come back by them and I really feel for AZ for coming so, so, soooo close to victory, only to lose it at the end. Sucks to be a Dutch voetbal fan this week.
