The shame thing is that it's not gonna be the same match anymore.
well it is just as good a match, if not better ... the sending-off hasn't had any effect on Bayern's plans, coz they've continued to pour forward with attacking intent ... and the pace of the match has become even more frenetic, and I only expect it to be maintained or increased now that it is 10 v 10 ...

Bayern dominated the entire second half, but then again Lyon are a second-rate team when compared to the other 3 semi-finalists so I expected nothing less.

That's rubbish! Inter has to travel to Barcelona by bus. Are you going to feel sorry for them next?

You sure? I think planes will be up by then right?

Excellent. Bayern was very blessed by this volcano.

It's too bad the cheating cocks at FFF are moving Lyon's game this weekend to the end of the season.

they're only doing that because Marseille and Bordeaux already got similar decisions earlier in the season, and it set a precedent ... the FFF may indeed review the decisions at the end of the season, and set a definitive rule on the matter at that time ... but for now, with the precedent already being set, there really isn't much else that could have resulted from Lyon's request ...

EDIT: and please, don't respond with some bullsh!t Platini conspiracy theory (not talking directly to you Shifty; this is a more general statement) ...

I think UEFA should have demanded the game stay on it's original date to maintain competitive balance in the Champions League. Just as van Gaal requested.

haha, I wish you guys were playing a Spanish team, and Van Gaal were complaining about the Spanish federation changing the fixture ... coz then there would be a chance of hearing another broken-castilian tirade from Van Gaal, like the infamous "tu eres muy malo" incident (H)

anyway, the protest is not going to happen man ... precedent has been set by the FFF this season ... you're a lawyer-in-training, I know you get this ... hopefully you and Van Gaal stop throwing a tantrum, and focus on your preparations ...

I understand what precedent is, but 2 things:

1) This is the FFF and I'm almost positive that their guidelines are to decide these things on a game by game basis. They're just looking out for their team and that would be fine if every federation was the same. Unfortunately the DFB has a weaker appeals process than the Third Reich, so this isn't fair. And maybe if it was a Tuesday-Saturday-Wednesday I wouldn't complain as much, but it's the dreaded Wednesday-Saturday-Tuesday schedule.

2) France is a civil law country and it's courts don't look at precedent? I would imagine the FFF operates more like that and less like a court of common law. But I admit that's a weak and unusual argument.

clear penalty on Alves.
offside goal from milito.
it was 12 vs 11 the whole match.
but it doesn't matter. Barca should repeat that earlier result, 2-0.
Let's Go Barca, Screw SOB Mourinho, Inter.

did you miss the 1v1 Milito had that was called back or the break that Inter could have had after that which was wrongly called by the ref for a 'foul' on Keita by Eto??? It could have been 2-0 for Inter in the first 10 min...:clapwap:

Well they made it further than your boys, and they beat Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bordeaux to make it this far, so saying they are second rate is a bit unjust. I'm sure they'd atleast challenge Inter and Barca.

Vedran-10

Starting XI
I can hardly wait for the return leg on Wednesday. My anticipation grows each day, and I'm beginning to feel really confident about our chances.

As for the first leg, I was disappointed with the team and the reactions from Barcelonistas. I personally didn't see the ref favouring Inter. There were bad calls for both sides but that's normal. The two most disputed situations are a non-topic for me. The penalty never existed and there's a very good video that shows Sneijder pull his leg back up just as Alves was beginning his descent. It was a very good call by the referee, I only regret the rules here don't allow red cards because I wanted to see the diving wimp sent off after those awful theatrics.
Milito's goal was offside, but the linesman was standing at a bad angle (not in line with Milito nor Pique) and truth be told, it was a confusing situation. Everything happened so fast, and I suppose the referees were focused on Sneijder who was expected to test Valdes, so they ignored Milito. I don't think anyone expected Sneijder to make such a poor header that it even looked like a brilliant pass. I am convinced Sneijder tried to score there but just did so poorly that Milito could take advantage of it. By the time Milito stepped into the picture and scored, the refs weren't sure about offside so they gave him the benefit of the doubt. This is logical since they made a poor offside call against Milito earlier and gave Barcelona that non-existant foul on Keita that Eto'o supposedly made. Had those two wrong decisions not happened, Inter would have most probably got their opener early on so I count ourselves lucky here.
Of course, these aren't the only poor calls during the game, but it was an intense match and I thought the referees all in all didn't damage any team more than the other.
Inter put in an excellent performance and deservedly won. I was surprised they could keep that level up for 70 minutes. We did the same against Arsenal but we play possession football while Inter don't, so it's less consuming for us. Inter are a well prepared side in all aspects - stamina, strength, mentality, tactics... They will be very difficult to beat but I think we can manage it. We have a chance if the team does its job the way they can.

I think Barcelona should focus on our own mistakes rather than a ref who didn't even do so bad. We have plenty of things to correct from the first leg and I expect that, if Pep addresses the team fully, he won't have the time to even begin thinking about the referees. I want the best Barcelona on Wednesday, and if we still go out, I want Inter to have the most difficult match of the season against us. The Translator said it well, if Inter lose 2-1 in Barcelona, it will be a better result for them than the 3-1 win in Milano. I want to put them through hell (football wise), because if this Barca side won't reach the Bernabeu, we will make sure whoever does will damn well deserve it more than us.

So, warrior faces on Wednesday and show us what this Barcelona can do.

Sure. He'll do what he used to do against us in the epic Chelsea - Barça matches. I remember Chelsea scoring a goal in Camp Nou (Belletti own goal), without haveing a single shot on target in the whole match :) It was in the 1/8 04-05. Eto'o and Maxi Lopez I think, gave us an useless victory in the end...
