Liedson is a little bitch, he has fallen over at least 5 times in the span of a minute.

Edit: Yellow card to a guy for diving (Y)

He's the worst piece of sh*t i have ever saw on a football field, the scum of football. Fantastic player though, the bastard

Yep great match for Van der Sar. I corroborate everything Rui Costa said about Liedson, it´s even worse in our league. I think it´s a matter of time for Miguel Veloso to move abroad too, don´t think he will move to United since they are stacked with central midfielders. An ideal midfield pairing would be Veloso and Fabregas, i think Wenger has him shortlisted from what i read after the European U-21 Championship.

Sporting didn't played badly, had 3 or 4 good chances, but ManU is from another galaxy. Yannick was very clumsy tonight, he should have left at half-time for Vuckevic.
Van der Sar and the central defenders made an almost perfect game and Cristiano Ronaldo was awesome tonight.
I don't think we have many chances of finishing 2nd place, just hope that, at least, Sporting get's an UEFA Cup spot.

MoM: Cristiano Ronaldo, obviously.

Yep that´s a realistic post. United were pratically flawless in defence. Even so if the result was a 1-1 it wouldn´t shock anyone.

Yet another 1-0 win but at least we produced some quality chances especially after the goal. Without Ronaldo, we certainly lack creativity and barely create any decent chances.
Anyway, Sporting fans are very impressive, unlike the sore losers from other Portuguese clubs I prefer not to mention. Also that standing ovation given to Ronaldo was classy.
Man of the match is Ronaldo, closely followed by VDS for those 2 fantastic saves..

Hehe i understand your post night but it´s understandable here. Sporting and Benfica have a very fierce rivalry and dispite Ronaldo´s wonderful performances in our national team (diferent circumstances), Benfica fans would never cheer for him. Just like Sporting fans booed Anderson when he got on, he played for Porto. The football rivalry btw the three giants in Portugal is very intense.

C. Ronaldo not celebtaing the goal and bowing Sporting fans was also a nice gesture from him, kudos to CR. :clapwap:

There is a very clear difference in case you didn't notice Sporting are Benfica's rivals. Sporting was the club that launched Ronaldo for football and also Ronaldo apologized to Sporting fans after scoring the goal. It's obvious that the fans appreciate that.

Funny thing you didn't mention Nani who also played for Sporting was booed, like every other United player out there, except for Ronaldo. Anderson, who played for FC Porto, was also booed, and it's understandable, since FC Porto are Sporting and Benfica's rivals.

Ok. My post wasn't clear enough and I just realized that :)
The classy standing ovation comment was referring to the fans who were actually in the stadium. However, the first part of the sentence where I'm criticizing the other Portuguese club fans is referring to the fans who happen to post on this forum. Sorry for the misunderstanding..

I had my k750i alarm to wake me up when the match started, but sleeping late at night didn't help. Woke up with the game left with 15 minutes to play. :( At least I did get to see United attack several times.

Great result. Liek I said, we have every chance to win tonight and another clean sheet is a great boost for Sunday. Ronaldo scored a a great diving header from one of Brown's better balls as a right-back. I think credit to van der Sar too for his exceptional saves.

Kudos to the home fans for their appreciation of Ronaldo, who showed his maturity for his 'celebration' after the goal.

I don't think its my business to talk about cheers and boos but I think Nani didn't get the same treatment as Ronaldo was because of his pre-move noises at the club about leaving the club for a bigger one. As for Ronaldo, he didn't make any noises and we went in for him swiftly without any ruckus from the media.

**** Van Der Sar really. We didn't deserve to lose...

Nice gesture from Ronaldo after the goal. Still, I couldn't help saying every name and **** off to Ronaldo in the game, the man was unstoppable.

MoM...Ronaldo. Followed by Van Der Sar, he made two saves just O_O.

About Sporting, Djaló = crap. Ronny = crap. M.Veloso = God . Purovic = (Y) The rest was pretty average.
And what about that sprint from Abel almost in the end? I thought it was Bosingwa for a minute (H)

Yeah, i agree with your post more, it more has to do with Ronaldo being an ex-Sporting player, rather than Porto and Benfica having very classless fans, imo.

I didn't know Izmailov is a Sporting player now, how long has he been there and how's he doing in portugal? He was such a big prospect in russia back 5-6 years ago.

He's a new signing for this season (on loan).
So far his highlight was the great winning goal that he scored against FC Porto in the Portuguese Supercup:

Other than that he's been very discret, and a bit of a let down, I must say.
