Hats of to Thrustmaster for a solution for their gamepad - saves waiting an eternity for a patch that will probably never come and if it comes it may not address this problem effectively.
At last I can smile and I guess so will other Thrustmaster users.
I use a Thrustmaster Dual Power 3 game pad and like many have been going mad about what I believed to be very poor control implementation in PES 6!
Like many others, I blamed Konami for the error but now I'm just confused??
I've purchased PES 6 on the release day and have since been looking for a fix (or a patch from Konami - DREAM ON!) on a daily basis but to no avail. So I decided to check back at the Thrustmaster website and BANG!!..
You need to goto:
Thrustmaster Website
and check out the site news. This will point you to some new drivers named as Package 3.FFD.2006 and also instructions for using Pro Evolution Soccer 6™ PC Gamepad via the new drivers.
Please remember before doing anything to un-install any old drivers first, then reboot, install the new driver, reboot again just to be safe, then follow the PES 6 gamepad settings instruction which has a handy little feature to create PS 2 mode:
Pro Evolution Soccer 6™ PC – Gamepad settings
These settings are required for the following gamepads:
(for other Thrustmaster gamepads, please skip directly to step 4 of the procedure)
“Dual Trigger Wireless PC”
“Dual Trigger 2-in-1 Wireless Rechargeable”
“Dual Trigger 2-in-1”
“Dual Trigger 2-in-1 Rumble Force”
“Dual Trigger 2-in-1 Wireless Rechargeable”
“Firestorm Dual Analog” (Version 1, 2, 3, 3.2 and 4)
“Firestorm Dual Power” (Version 1, 2, 3, 3.2 and 4)
“360 Modena Force UPAD”
“T-Mini 2-in-1”
“T-Mini 2-in-1 Rumble Force”
“T-Mini Wireless 2-in-1”
“T-Mini Wireless 2-in-1 Rumble Force”
Procedure:
1) Install the most recent driver for your gamepad.
2) In the Control Panel, a new option appears:
* Control: PC type(default)
* Control: PS2 type
3) Click the new Control: PS2 type tab and then click OK.
4) Launch the game’s Settings file.
(In the KONAMI / Pro Evolution Soccer 6 installation folder.)
5) Click PLAYER 1 to configure your gamepad.
6) You are now ready to play.
= Click OK and launch the game!
Sadly this will only satisfy us Thrustmaster users but hey who cares, if you're using a different gamepad... go get a decent one!!
Frankie.
