Im managing the national team of aust, and just took them to a gallant 4th in the world cup (after being knocked out in extra time to England in the semi!
)...I still think I could have possibly won the cup, had it not been for the stupid game...
My 'bug', if thats what it was, is that lots of my players fitness levels were in what appeared to be 'off-season' mode...I mean They were all tired, all in need of rest OR all "need to be worked up to fitness in time for new season"...
By the end of the cup, my stars, Kewell, Cahill, Bresciano, Neill and Emerton were all running at about 80% at the START of games, but opposition teams seemed to not have nearly the same problem...I even rotated the squad a little (neill and emerton were suspended twice, so it wasnt thru choice, bloody blackburn players!), and these guys had a couple of weeks off at the end of the league season just like everyone else! Kewell only played about 25 games, because he was injured for the first half, yet he was very tired, and guys from other teams are starting with 95-100% condition...
Anyone else experienced this?
Im 99% the new patch doesnt fix it, I only have 6.0.1 atm, because my connection is 14.4kbps (56k modem on a crap foneline running at only a quarter of the speed its meant to!), so I havent got the new patch, but Im sure it wouldnt fix it anyway...
