Thierry Henry to Barcelona...

The Legend
Jerome Anderson (Henry's agent) is saying it's a load of crap. He's considering legal action against the writers because the story implied tapping up.

Starting XI
30 million euros is still alot for a 29 year old. Remember when Ruud went from Man Utd, he only went for £12mil, and then is the top scorer in La Liga, but the reason he went for so little is because of his age. Henry should for for about £20million in my opinion, especially considering his age/injuries in the last year.

EDIT: http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_2226497,00.html

Looks like Thierry's agent isn't taking the news well, he's seeking legal advice to sue a magazine in France for reporting the news, ouch. He might seek legal action against Soccergaming next.

The story being relayed this evening is the very definition of tapping up!

yea, i'm suprised he aint moving to MLS, lol :D..anyways... barca will be one powerhouse if he really signs with them.. it was on SKYSPORT News some French media that asked him questions where he says "I'm just waiting for the green light and then I will sign with Barca" so this is somewhat 100% true - a deal waiting to happend. Will he be a star player like he was with Arsenal - I highly doubt so. It could turn out to be the same scenario when Sheva left Milan for Chelsea.. In Milan he was the man..goal getter..in Chelsea seems like he was just your average striker..

Every other time his future has been questionned, there was always a sense that was leaning more towards Arsenal. This time things are different, his attitude, comments, body language... really seem to indicate that he his leaning towards an exit.

Help?

Sheva was moving from a slow tactical game into a non-stop movement game. Henry is going backwards from very fast to a slower game and the defense in Spain is ****, so Henry having problems in La Liga? Not a chance.

Arsenal ace Thierry Henry has moved to reject reports that he has agreed a deal with Barcelona.

Reports emanating from France on Monday suggested Henry was on the verge of a move to the Spanish giants after France Football claimed the striker had agreed a three-year deal at Camp Nou.

Henry's representatives rubbished the rumours and are now considering legal action against the French magazine.

Henry, who was in France to play play in the testimonial game for Brazilian striker Sonny Anderson on Monday night, says no decision has been made on his future.

"Nothing is done. I repeat, nothing," Henry told L'Equipe.

"At this moment I am an Arsenal player and in the same situation as I was last year.

"Last season people were announcing all over the place that I was leaving. Some people wrote that it would happen for sure but at the end of the day I stayed at Arsenal. It could be the same this year.

"I've not taken any decision and my name is not up on any departures board. If something happens, I will tell everybody."

Henry also admitted he is upset at Arsenal's decision to axe former vice-chairman David Dein in April.

"David Dein's departure was a mistake," added Henry.

"I have said it before and I will say it for the next 20 years. If there was one person who had to stay at Arsenal, it was David Dein."

Meanwhile, Henry's Arsenal and France team-mate William Gallas has suggested Henry should leave the club if he is not happy.

"If certain players want to go, we should not prevent them," Gallas is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

"I am hungry to win matches and titles. Once you reach the age of 30 the best moments come when you lift a trophy.

"I've begun playing the big brother role with the numerous young players.

"Last season, I was out injured for three months, but still did not give up. I am a warrior, and I battle all the time."

To be honest, that interview has made me think he is going to leave.

don't exactly inspire confidence. I'm not sure its Barca he's headed to, but it sure isn't gonna be Arsenal he's playing for next season.

I definitely agree. Interviews I've seen he looks gutted about David Dein leaving. This is all to similar to Viera. It seems like Arsenal can hold out for one summer on teams bidding, but if the big clubs keep trying the deal will happen.

If this deal does actually happen I could see Arsenal completely ****ed and no better that Tottenham and Everton if they do not replace Henry with a proven big name striker and bulk up their center midfield and center defense.

It looks like it will be the big 3 in England next year with Arsenal 2 steps behind. :nape:
