There Is Something Inherently Wrong With All FIFA Games!

Hey guys,

I'm back to talk about this 6-7 year old issue about how FIFA's game physics change all of a sudden once you've played for a couple of days/weeks - not sure exactly what the tipping point is.

What happens (across all consoles) is this:

Players start moving faster, have sub-par ball control, AI gets dumber...without the user changing any settings! It might be something in how EA actually build the game. Maybe after a while they figure they'll let you "be better" by automatically adjusting sliders in your favor behind the scenes ...without any slider settings actually being modified as far as you'd be able to tell.

I've seen this since fifa 2009. It's really simple. You start the game and it feels realistic, and players move fluid, within certain laws of physics lets say... and after a while, days/weeks, depending on how often you play, the physics change with no apparent reason and the players start moving unrealistically quick and jerky!

Surely some of you guys who have been playing this game since forever have noticed this when playing against the AI. Don't you remember how difficult it was to win when you first installed the game? The AI would connect passes expertly and never ever drop the ball...even on a low difficulty level. Then after a while, world class, legendary..doesn't matter, they start to behave like a bunch of morons where the ball just bounces off players.

Also, I swear that on one FIFA title...I think it was 10 or 11, at one point the game physics flipped for dry and wet/snowy weather and players would glide around unrealistically in the dry as if it was snowing or raining.

So I ask you...is there something wrong with the way FIFA is constructed...on an algorithmic level? Does something happen tot he game physics automatically after a while?

I think you just notice subtle details the more you play. When you first start, your brain is still getting used to all of the new settings, features, movements, etc. After a while, those things get old and you start noticing the minor details that are (admittedly) utterly infuriating.

I've been playing FIFA titles since the late 90s... so I know that this isn't in my head. I've also been playing NBA titles such as 2K and Live since the early 2000s, so I know how a game feels when its physics never change.

FIFA physics change by themselves over time dude. Why hasn't anybody noticed these things?

Also, another detail that lets me know that it's not just "in my head" is the fact that by changing certain irrelevant settings (like graphics) on FIFA 12 (i think) each time before i opened the game (on PC), allowed me to play with the initial, out of the box physics. Whereas if i left the settings alone before clicking PLAY, the physics would be all jerky, players wouldn't have the same ball control etc.

EA sells 15 million copies of FIFA every year, apparently not very many people care.

FIFA 14 w/edits = all I need for my football fix. Great game, no complaints from me.

If it were all in your head, how would you know that it wasn't all in your head?

Far less likely that they dedicated hundreds of man hours to developing a super secret code that serves next to no suppose while systematically evading your detection.
