Ok, after reading (or receiving) the 1,000th notification of stats disapproval with PES4 I've decided to undertake an ambitious project to overall all the stats in the default database for PES4.
Taking the database from Football Manager 2005 (the follow-up to Championship Manager 4) and converting it using Hex Editor to the CM4 database format so the database structure will be compatable with EditPES4OptionFile 0.6 and translate the values accordingly, I am going to change the stats of every player in PES4 to those of FM2005.
FM2005/CM4 is known to be the most accurate worldwide in terms of stats and looking at the attributed stats for many players as a comparison, it has a much more realistic overview of players in terms of correcting the over/under-rating of players than any other source.
Of course, there will be players that some may still consider over/under-rated but we'll have to live with that as it's objective and down to personal opinion. The key thing is that we have a more accurate stats database than the one we have as default in PES4.
If we are adding players to the squads in the game anyway using the FM2005/CM4 stats, it makes sense to have every player allign by having the same source for the stats. My eventual objective is to have every club/national player updated and all new players added to the game have stats from these databases. When I am finished I will release the option file along with EditPES4OptionFile with the database included so people can make their own amendments in future. All players in the game will be linked to the database via the editor so it will be easy to make transfers etc.
I'd say this is going to take about two weeks for the first version to be released and to incorporate squad updates/transfers etc. and then an update will be released after the January transfer window closes.
