The reason for the second uv map and ambient texture is to unwrap all uvs and u bake the ambient occlusion to the ambient texture. this gives it depth and makes it appear 3d, for example under the roof will appear darker than ontop of the roof, things like that.
doing this takes the stadiums to the next level of realism.but seing as this is a convert you would probably need to split the meshes up into more worakble parts.

I must say that I learned converting stadiums only a week ago. So my knowledge is very basic. My intention is to convert many stadiums as possible and if someone want to finish them, then it's great. But I appreciate your input and if it's okay, I would contact you if I have further questions.
