I've been using gel a lot for the past 4 years and a lot of ppl tell me that it's really bad for my hair and I'm gonna lose my hair if I dont stop using it. I've asked a lot of "smarter" ppl and they just told me that it's all hereditary and gel has nothing to do with hair loss..."it's all a myth".

What do you all think? Does hair gell have anything to do with hair loss at all?
(by the way, I've been using "got2b glued" gel)

i think gel like DEP and Dippity Doo can cause hair damage, but the wax/pommade/glue that a lot of people use nowadays isn't as bad for your hair, i don't think it causes hair loss but excessive use doesn't allow your hair to get proper nutrients.

the only glue thats bad for your hair is ICE, which I used for a good year or too... I use got2b now, and it's ok unless you sleep with it still in your hair... which I do sometimes :chew:

ICE is bad? i used that for a good while, it's basically glue, lol says so on the bottle, i used got2b before and it seems ok but now i use alberto creative putty, doesn't seem to hard on the hair like ice and got2b were but im growing my hair out now so i wont be using gel anymore anyways

I dont really know but i've been using gel like crazy the past few years & recently my hair started falling like hell. Luckily i still got lots to spare but its scary anyway & i'm sticking to the natural look for the meantime As far as heredity is concerned there aint any cases of premature baldness in my family so i'm either setting a 1st or its all the gel's fault.

ICE was the worst gel I ever used man, I bought it once..it was like $20 or sumthin..never again..got2b is the greatest gel to use (im not endorsing anything I swear)

I use the same gel you use and I dont think it contributes to baldness, it shouldnt at least

I'm pretty sure baldness is hereditary. I don't need gel, because my hair hardly ever grows to more than 4 cm long.
