The real solution

The real solution for the problems with the FIFA series is the license. We users will always have to settle for EA's half-hearted "updates" each year until there is some true competition. Other sports genres have multiple titles with licenses, but unfortunately, FIFA licensed EA exclusively, so no such luck for us.

If this mistake had not been made, we'd be able to choose from several titles in which we could play our favorite teams, with our favorite players. EA would not be able to rest on the fact that if I want to earn the Scudetto year after year for Inter, then I have to buy their game. Without this advantage, EA would have to compete on gameplay and features and we would have better games.

It's not up to EA to do something about the license, it's up to FIFA. And anyway, the point is that trying to come up with ideas for FIFA 2004 is a waste of time, because EA will ignore them and put out the same eye-candy crap-gameplay game it always puts out and we'll be here again in the FIFA 2005 forum coming up with the same wishlists.

Basically, there are tons of ideas to be had about the game, but they're all a waste of time, because EA isn't under any pressure due to their unfair advantage.
