Pool NEED to get 4th spot, and they won't. They're in a bad financial situation, and they need the CL money. City don't need the money, they can do with another year out of the CL, and Spurs don't need it as much as Pool, since it's not income they're losing, it's income they could gain. If City get 4th spot, they can offer money as well as CL footie, and Pool won't be able to compete with that. The step backwards will lead to some exits, and I don't think many stars will be lured to a club in their situation. Villa and Spurs are progressing, so the big loser here is Liverpool.

I'm probably not alone in saying this (and probably kp40 may disagree seeing as how he respects their history), but Liverpool falling like a rock is the best thing that could happen.

And yeah, it would be a great story to see Portsmouth winning the FA cup.

Good job by Pompey showed a lot of heart. Would be a fairy tale ending if they won it i just hope they don't get smashed in the final.

Read his post twice Xifio, if you don't mind me asking, were does he say anything about Grant being a jew? I actually agree with what he has said and it has nothing to do with were he comes from..

Aye, that's true, but the league's not over yet. And my bias for Grant is something I've never hidden, but I don't think anything you've said really takes away from what he's done at Portsmouth. He's had to do with a squad that was very bare because of financial needs, and has got his team into the FA cup final. It's not that uncommon, but it's still an achievement. And really, my main point about him is how smart taking over at Pompey has been. It's only going to help him in his career, and when he signed on, the consensus was that this was a terrible decision.

Meh. I am not a robot, and I want my fellow countrymen to succeed. I don't think I've ever said anything which had no basis simply because of this basis.

And I don't think Grant will reach superstardom, he is not a good enough manager. But this could act as a good stepping stone for him to manage a midtable club in a major league, and that's where he belongs.

Personally I think it's a shame that the semi-final was decided by a terrible pitch and yet more awful officiating. Crouch scored a perfectly legitimate goal which was disallowed because David James foolishly launched himself into Kranjčar. I really hate how goalkeepers are often given piss free kicks when they make contact with attackers.

Bale was great. Spurs were clearly the better side and it's a shame they lost. The cup final will now be a total joke as a result. I expect Chelsea to be a couple of goals up within half an hour and cruise to an embarassingly easy 5-0 victory. Spurs vs Chelsea would have been potentially decent. So it's bad news all round really.

Redknapp and Hodgson got the Manager of the Year awards. I think what Hodgson has done is amazing, but why does he deserve this award more than Ancelotti or McLeish? The Europa League is a continental competition, and the award is supposed to go to domestic achievements. Fulham have finished 12th after being 7th last year. Sure, 12th is still great for them, but shouldn't he have gotten that award last year?

McLeish got a Championship side to a top-half finish, being close to Europe at times, and they played like a great unit, similarly to Roy's team. And Carlo won the Prem and could get the double, in his first year.

And Redknapp got 4th, which is why Barclays gave him their award, because they care about the league more than the other association (forgot their name).

Yeah it's pathetic how Chelsea are constantly ignored when it comes to plaudits like these.

Lampard: 20 plus goals every season for the last 5 years, and thats without recognising his assists, and his overall contribution to the side. Has only missed 4 games in five years. Ignored.

Drogba: Golden boot winner 09/10. Could score 50 goals in a season and would still be ignored.

Anelka: Golden boot winner 08/09. Ignored.

Cech: Most clean sheets over successive seasons. Ignored.

Essien: Ignored.

Malouda: Been a revelation this season for Chelsea, but for some inexplicable reason is ignored over Rooney, who hasn't actually improved this season, he's just been used better by his coach.

The list goes on and on, and it's always been that way. So fu<k 'em all. They can stick their awards up their arses. We don't need 'em.

We'll just keep winning the important awards like the Premiership, and keep scoring a ridiculous number of goals every season, and keep a record number of clean sheets too. Not even mentioning the outstanding football we have played over the years.

These decisions NOT to award us anything are not oversights. How can anyone not be aware of Chelsea and their player's achievements over the seasons.

I hope winning the League and the Golden Boot award, gets right up their noses. Know nothing wanker's that they are.

I think all these awards nowadays are a joke. While being delighted every time a United player grabs an award, I laughed my ass off when Giggs won the player of the year award last season for a reason that has nothing to do with his performances in that season (which is the point of that award) but (probably) his overall contribution over the years.

The Giggs award last season was an utter joke. If he did enough to win it last year then he should have won it this year too.

Biggest travesty was also the PFA Team OTY's midfield. Although I don't really like Chelsea, Lampard and Malouda should have been there.

For me those awards meant sh*t since 1999. United did the treble and David f*cking Ginola won both of them? I don't think so.

Also why are they voted for at Christmas, and not at, oh I don't know ... the END of the season maybe?

Rooney did carry United on his back for most of the season, I don't recall a Chelsea player being that influential on his own, perhaps that's why they gave it to him. I'm not saying I agree, just trying to understand why they did it... Chelsea mostly won because of strong, cohesive, mostly injured-free team. Which is why I have no idea why it was Hogdson who took that Manager award...

If someone in Chelsea were to win it, should be Lampard. He scored 22 and made 17 assists. Crazy stats. Should be either Rooney or Lampard for me.

Reason why I wouldn't even consider Drogba is because he's surrounded by so many quality midfielders to make assists for him. Drogba had players like Ballack, Lampard, Deco etc whereas Rooney had Fletcher, Valencia, Carrick...

The main off-season issue is the last Champions League spot, NOT who won and who didn't win various individual awards because ALL those winners would gladly trade in the plaudits for an EPL title. Sorry but that's the truth and you know it.

It's time for a playoff. The league needs to follow the Eredivisie. The Dutch have got it right. Ie England, it should be the top 3 +1 where 4-7 fight it out in a playoff. No need for a 39th game. Just a playoff is required.

There's no time like the present to implement it.

They should have it in place for the 2010-2011 season. More games, even larger TV audience, more money for the league, more money for Wembley..........it's a win-win situation.

I wasn't thinking correctly earlier. It was ALWAYS a good idea. More teams get a chance this way..........
