The Official Arsenal Thread [Season 2006/07]

You are basically just accusing every club who has ever tried to buy a player or bought a player of purposely unsettling a player. Arsenal don't come out in the media and say we want "blah blah blah". David Dein doesn't come out and say "I have deals for Robinho etc." Your club does. That is what is wrong. Don't use the media to cause trouble. Man Utd are trying it with Owen hargreaves and Bayern are threatening legal action, it'll happen to you too.

You are offering contracts to 16 year olds, you really think that does not unsettle them from where they are at right now? You dont go the the clubs ( legal loophole my ass ) just the player and his agent. At least we go for players that are established and pay the club for the player instead of just robing kids. Arsenal dont come out in the media beacuse no media is crazy about them and they are not going after big/star players, unkown players that most papers dont really get into. Like I said, the media goes crazy over everything ( Yes Calderon is an idiot, I dont like him much, and I dont agree with his movement ) but a lot of it is media talk. Dont you know that by now, according to them we should have had 5 new teams. You honestly think that your club ( or any other big club ) goes to the club first than the player? Come on, just because your president does not say it does not make it any more right or wrong. Legal actions, like the one Milan and Chelsea sent that turned into nothing? So far nothing has come of those has it? Blame the media all you want, I could give a rats ass about that.

Any source which is close to Gallas is bound to be one of his strategic media pawns. The guy has constantly changed his mind this summer if you believe everything which has been written about the situation, and frankly, I think he is desperately searching for an exit by trying to drop a bomb like that.

The fact that Bridge performed well this weekend, to me, means the window of opportunity for Arsenal to sell cole to Chelsea is closing rapidly. I doubt it will ever get done at the original 25 million suggested now, that is, if it gets done at all. The only way Arsenal can get Gallas, in my opinion, is if he is so embittered as to veto a move anywhere else, sits for a year in the reserves and then opts to sign with you when he is out of contract. Obviously, chances of that arent too good

And just to be clear, by "rob" I didnt mean you stole illegally. I meant, as Socrates said, you tempt a player away from a team with the promise of first team play when he is still maturing. Players like Fabregas and Flammini wouldve gotten a chance with their respective clubs and may have even become stars, but the fact is you tempted and took them before their clubs even had a chance to graduate them. To me, thats pretty underhanded in itself

It's legal, Marsielles tried to do us for Flamini, they failed. If they don't have professional contracts then they are free to go where the **** they want without permission. It's once they've signed a contract then the club has a say.

Arsenal aren't doing anything ilegal. I don't see the reason to attack them.

Calderon had contracts with Robben, Kaka and Cesc. Laporta already had Beckham in Barcelona, ready to sign. They all lie to get into position, so we should be more realistic. Laporta lied, and I'm thankful for it. He has reborn our Club and I applaud most of the things he has done. I don't really care about the way he got into power, as long as he will help us.
The same goes for Calderon. I actually think Calderon-haters may be wrong. He did promise something and failed to deliver, but do you think others would have fulfilled their promise? Don't be ridiculous. So far, Calderon has made a fool of himself on a few ocassions, most notably the Mediapro deal :funny: , but he is also doing something that every chairmain should do... let the coach pick the players he wants. And you have to give him credit for really, really trying to bring Kaka. He could have sent an offer, get rejected and quit, because he was president already.
And why blame Madrid for the press? I know they have Marca and AS, but to be frank, why wouldn't they use the media? As far as I know, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the only two clubs that actually have newspapers behind them. That is an asset. Arsenal are taking advantage of a loophole, Milan have the richest man in Italy, Chelsea have the richest man in Britain, Madrid has the newspapers, Barca as well to an extent. Juve have the referees (H) , and Inter apparently have the judges.

We all have something. No one is more innocent nor guiltier than the others.

I don't like to see Arsenal "stealing" youth, but hey, they have a great manager with a nose for it, and they have legal grounds. So why not?

I don't like to see Madrid buy players like Diarra (great asset, btw), but they have the money and the papers. So why not?

I don't like to see Chelsea offering three times more than everyone else for any players, but they have a rich owner, the money is his. So why not?

Everyone is within their legal rights. It's useless to discuss who's right or wrong because I can't point to someone and say "Your club is doing this and that" when my club could be doing the same thing, and probably does. I also can't point to Calderon and call him a cheat and a liar because Laporta has been known to do naughty things, too.

Haha like Reyes would go to them, I thought you guys wanted 25 million euros?

:D Nope, Robinho is not for sale. As much as Capello seems to dislike him, he wont sell him. The fans would go crazy. Robinho in a swap for Reyes, talk about a sh!t deal.

well the actual deal wouldnt be that bad, Reyes is a class player, he doesnt have the media bandwangon behind him like being young and brazilian and at a big club brings.

Iam just posting what pops up on nornally credible websites

Not an encouraging performance to say the least, against City :( . Wenger truly has no choice but to invest in defense. Djourou and Hoyte are just uncapable of coping at EPL level. Frustrating

Again Arsenal shoot themselfs in the foot trying to pass the ball into the net. Teams simply sit everyone behind the ball and Arsenal run out of ideas.

You Cocksucker, you.....I hope that your mother gets romanced up the ole anal canal by two American GIs

This ******* sucks, man. Why are our main rivals able to go a goal or two down and still make a comeback consistently and we're not? Are we GAY?

This psychological block of ours not being able to take a shot, any shot must be stemming from the type of advise the players are getting in training.....honestly, man. They're probably being drilled to make that extra pass no matter what the situation is...............

He was very impressive again, but by the time he'd come on, City were really concentrating all their efforts on defending. A lot of our miscues and hesitations in their area came from their wicked defending, really.

I really want him to start the next game.

We really need a proper LB, man......desperately. From what I remember, Hoyte is a natural RB trying to be converted to an LB out of sheer desperation? I swear to God he was better than this,,,,,,,,,we've gotta stop loaning our players out to ****ty clubs like Sunderland. Because, how else do you explain him having a bright future to being Cygan-esque so quickly?
